Crime Watch Part Two: Delivery Packages Stolen From Porches

Recent police activity as reported by the RVC PD.

Larceny:

On Aug. 1 at 10:45 a.m., a Harvard Avenue resident reported the theft of a FedEx package from the front step of his home.

On Aug. 4 at 12:01 p.m., a Lakeview Avenue resident reported that sometime between July 30 at 8 a.m. and July 30 at 7 p.m., unknown person(s) stole a U.S. Postal Service package from in front of her residence.

On July 30 at 4 p.m., a manger at Morrissey GMC reported three dealer license plates were stolen on or about July 10.

On July 31 at 11:40 a.m., a Raymond Street resident reported his GPS unit was stolen from his unlocked vehicle while it was parked in his driveway overnight.

On Aug. 1 at 6:15 p.m., a Cedar Avenue resident reported his bicycle was stolen from the Rockville Centre LIRR station during the day.

On Aug. 2 at 4:15 p.m., a Texas resident reported a laptop computer was stolen from his vehicle while it was parked in front of 247 Maple Ave.

On Aug. 2 at 9:10 p.m., the assistant manager at CVS, located at 155 Sunrise Highway, reported a female subject stole over the counter pain relievers and other assorted items, total value $123.58.

On Aug. 4 at 2:14 a.m., a Grand Avenue resident reported that a known person was in possession of his cell phone which he lost two weeks prior in Miceli’s Pizza, located at 19 N. Park Ave. in Rockville Centre.  The phone was returned to the owner.

On Aug. 4 at 3:50 a.m., a Valley Stream resident reported that two unknown males stole her pocketbook while she was walking on Merrick Road in the vicinity of N. Village Avenue. Proceeds included a camera, $80 and personal papers. 

On Aug. 4 at 3:07 p.m., a Hewlett resident reported an unknown person entered his vehicle and stole his car stereo while his vehicle was parked in the parking lot of Bally Fitness, located at 60 Merrick Road in Rockville Centre.

Investigation:

On July 31 at 1:30 p.m., a Merrick Road resident reported he wired $4,067 to a fictitious company for alleged tax implications after he was notified that he won $100,000 in a letter from England dated July 5.

Criminal Mischief:

On Aug. 2 at 7:55 a.m., a storeowner on S. Park Avenue reported finding a front window broken.

On Aug. 5 at 1:44 a.m., a Milford Place resident reported that an unknown person damaged the front window of his residence with a pellet from a pellet gun on Aug. 4 at approximately 11:34 p.m.

On Aug. 5  at 1:50 a.m., a Valley Stream resident reported that an unknown person damaged the rear windshield wiper on his vehicle sometime between 1:30 AM and 1:50 AM while it was parked on Front Street, Rockville Centre.
