Crime Watch Part Two: Car Fire and ID Theft

Recent police activity as reported by the RVC PD.

Larceny:

On Aug. 22, a complainant from Merrick Road in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) stole two NYS license plates from his 2008 Honda parked in the parking lot at his residence.

On Aug. 24 at 3:40 p.m., a complainant from S. Forest Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that her pocketbook was stolen while she was in the vicinity of Monroe Street and Jefferson Avenue in Rockville Centre. Two fifteen-year-old males were apprehended in the vicinity shortly thereafter and custodialized by police personnel.

On Aug. 29, a complainant from Reeve Road in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) stole property from his 2007 Jeep motor vehicle that was parked in his driveway between Aug. 27 at 11 a.m. and Aug. 28 at 10:30 a.m. 

Harassment:

On Aug. 22, a complainant from S. Centre Avenue in Rockville Centre reported being harassed by telephone and text between Aug. 19 at 6:45 p.m. and Aug. 22 at 11:20 p.m. by a friend of his former girlfriend.

On Aug. 24, a complainant from Reid Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that on Aug. 23 he was threatened by the relative of his father’s tenant.

On Aug. 27 at 3 p.m., a complainant from Southard Avenue in Rockville Centre reported receiving unwanted text messages containing photos of unknown children from an unfamiliar telephone number.

Unusual Incident:

On Aug. 25 at 11:30 a.m., a complainant from Muirfield Road in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) applied for and opened a student loan in 2007 without her knowledge or authority.

Fire:

On Aug. 27, a complainant from Osborne Place in Rockville Centre reported that his mother’s 1996 Audi automobile caught fire while parked in the rear of his residence.

Criminal Mischief:

On Aug. 24, a complainant from Windsor Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that his 2010 Nissan parked in Municipal Parking Field No. 26 was damaged by unknown person(s) sometime between 11 a.m. and 6:50 p.m.

On Aug. 31 at 5:15 a.m., complainant employee from Sky Athletic Health Club, located at 310A Merrick Road in Rockville Centre, reported that unknown person(s) damaged a side window of the business with graffiti without permission sometime between Aug. 30 at 11 p.m. and Aug. 31 at 5:10 a.m. 

Property Damage:

On Aug. 25 at 12:30 p.m., a complainant from Wagg Avenue in Malverne reported that at approximately 12:30 p.m., the rear bumper to her 2008 Chevrolet was damaged by unknown means while parked in the parking lot of 127 Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre.

On Aug. 28 at 9:30 a.m., complainant manager from Radio Shack, located at 264 Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre, reported that a large rock broke the front glass door of the business sometime between Aug. 27 at 6 p.m. and Aug. 28 at 8:50 a.m.

On Aug. 27, a complainant from Windsor Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that two tires to his 2011 Jeep were damaged by unknown means while parked in Municipal Parking Field No. 26 between 10 a.m. and 10:25 p.m.

On Aug. 29, a complainant from Lakeview Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that her drop ceiling was damaged by fire requiring RCFD response caused by a plumber working on pipes in the house.
