Crime Watch Part Two: B-Ball Hoop Stolen From Arbor Lane Home

Recent police activity as reported by the RVC PD.

Larceny:

On Aug. 6 at 7 p.m., a Buckingham Road, Rockville Centre resident reported that on Aug. 3 at 11:05 p.m., an unknown male stole his Apple iPhone after he had allowed the subject to borrow it to make a phone call while he was outside the Fantasy Theater, located at 18 N. Park Ave. in Rockville Centre.

On Aug. 7 at 1:55 p.m., a 14-year-old South Side HS student reported that his iPod was stolen from his book bag at the school on July 30.

On Aug. 7 at 11:25 a.m., a Banks Avenue, Rockville Centre resident reported that his iPad and miscellaneous papers were stolen from his unlocked vehicle while it was parked on Banks Avenue overnight on Aug. 5.

On Aug. 8 at 11 a.m., a Yale Place resident reported the theft of a GPS unit from her unlocked vehicle while it was parked in her driveway overnight.

On Aug. 8 at 10:10 p.m., a Voorhis Avenue, Rockville Centre resident reported the theft of a Fraternal Order of Police surgeon badge and identification card from his vehicle while it was parked in his driveway overnight.

On Aug. 8 at noon, the owner of a spa on N. Village Avenue in Rockville Centre reported the theft of facial cleaners by a former employee.

On Aug. 9 at 8:41 a.m., an Arbor Lane, Rockville Centre resident reported that two unknown persons stole a portable basketball hoop from in front of his residence.     

On Aug. 9 at 5:19 p.m., a Forestdale Road, Rockville Centre resident reported that unknown person(s) stole his Trek bicycle valued at $400 from the Rockville Centre LIRR Station on Front Street in Rockville Centre.   

On Aug. 10 at 9 a.m., a complainant from N. Long Beach Road in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between Aug. 8 at 6 p.m. and Aug. 10 at 8:30 a.m., unknown persons stole a red specialized mountain bicycle valued at $800 that was secured at the bicycle rack located at the LIRR in Rockville Centre.

On Aug. 10 at 4:20 p.m., a complainant from Merrick Avenue in Merrick reported that sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., unknown person(s) stole one NYS license plate from her 2009 Volvo while parked at 371 Merrick Road in Rockville Centre.

On Aug. 10 at 10:20 p.m., a complainant owner from Extra Butter clothing store at 266 Merrick Road in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between 4:50 p.m. and 8 p.m., an unknown person stole Tom brand sunglasses valued at $120 from a shelf located in the store.

On Aug. 11 at 4:15 p.m., a complainant employee from Shell Gas Station at 516 Merrick Road in Rockville Centre reported that an unknown person operating a silver Toyota left the scene and fail to pay for $40 worth of gasoline without authorization.

On Aug. 12 at 11:02 p.m., a complainant from Green Tree Circle in Westbury reported that unknown person(s) stole his wallet that had been left on the counter at Shing Wong Chinese Take-out at 182 Maple Ave. in Rockville Centre at approximately 9 p.m. and shortly thereafter used his debit card to make an unauthorized purchase for $20.75 at the 7-11 at 324 Merrick Road in Rockville Centre.

Unusual Incident:

On Aug. 10 at 10:55 a.m., a complainant from Gateway in Rockville Centre reported that sometime since April 16, unknown person(s) filed a tax return with her personal information without authorization.

On Aug, 9 at 11:16 a.m., a S. Lewis Place, Rockville Centre resident reported that an unknown person created an online internet banking account in her name without authorization.

Forgery:

On Aug. 9 at 7:40 p.m., a manager from CVS Pharmacy, located at 598 Merrick Road in Rockville Centre, reported that an unknown male forged a doctor’s prescription and illegally obtained Percocet pills.

Criminal Mischief:

On Aug. 11 at 9:40 a.m., a complainant owner from Rapid Realty, located at 6 S. Village Ave. in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between Aug. 10 at 8 p.m. and Aug. 11 at 9 a.m., unknown person(s) damaged a store front window valued at approximately $800 without authorization.  

Graffiti:

On Aug. 10 at 12:20 p.m., a complainant office manager from 36 Lincoln Ave. in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between Aug. 9 at 8 p.m. and Aug. 10 at 11 a.m., graffiti had been placed without permission on an exterior wall of the office building.

On Aug. 10 at 2:30 p.m., police personnel identified graffiti that had been placed on property at five locations within the Village of Rockville Centre.

Property Damage:

On Aug. 8 at 10:10 a.m., an Elmont resident reported his vehicle was damaged by unknown means while it was parked at 173 Sunrise Highway overnight.

On Aug. 12 at 1:40 p.m., a complainant from Allen, TX reported that sometime between Aug. 10 at 11 p.m. and Aug. 11 at 11:45 p.m., the windshield to his 2010 Volvo was damaged by unknown means while parked beneath the LIRR at Front Street and Clinton Avenue in Rockville Centre.
