Crime Watch Part Two: 13 Car Break Ins During Five-Day Span

Recent police activity as reported by the RVC PD.

The following information was supplied by the RVC Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Burglary:

On June 29, a complainant from Maple Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) entered his apartment through an unsecured bedroom window sometime between Monday June 27 at 10 p.m. and June 28 at 9:30 p.m. and stole $1,321.

Larceny:

On June 28 at about 6:30 a.m., a Princeton Road resident reported an unknown person entered his vehicle and stole a laptop computer, GPS unit and a cell phone while it was parked in his driveway overnight.

On June 27 at 1:15 p.m., an office manager for a doctor at 2000 N. Village Ave. reported the theft of a prescription pad.

On June 28, complainant general manager from Karp Volvo Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between May 31 at noon and June 3 at 9 a.m., unknown person(s) stole an unregistered 1995 Volvo motor vehicle that was parked in an enclosed parking lot.

On June 28, a complainant from Princeton Road in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between June 27 at 8 p.m. and June 28 at 7 a.m., unknown person(s) cut the plastic window to his 1998 Jeep motor vehicle that was parked in his driveway and stole an iPad Nano valued at $250.

On June 28, a complainant from Verizon Wireless, located at 265 Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre, reported that sometime between 7:30 p.m. and 7:35 p.m. unknown person(s) stole a Samsung Galaxy Tablet valued at $550 from the counter of the store.

On June 28, a complainant from Princeton Road in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between June 27 at 8:30 p.m. and June 28 at 9 a.m., unknown person(s) entered his unlocked 2009 Acura motor vehicle that was parked in his driveway and attempted to steal property; there was no apparent loss at the time of report.

On June 28, a complainant from Marlborough Court in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m., unknown person(s) entered her unlocked 2011 Honda motor vehicle that was parked in her driveway and stole a Garmin GPS.

On June 28, a complainant from Rockaway Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between June 27 at 7 p.m. and June 28 at 5 p.m., unknown person(s) entered her unlocked 2009 Honda motor vehicle that was parked in her driveway and stole an Apple iPod valued at $125.

On June 28, a complainant from Princeton Road in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between June 27 at 9 p.m. and June 28 at 10 a.m., unknown person(s) entered his unlocked 2010 Cadillac motor vehicle that was parked in his driveway and stole a Rolex watch valued at $4,555.

On June 28, a complainant from Columbia Road in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between June 27 at 7:30 p.m. and June 28 at 7 a.m., unknown person(s) entered her unlocked 2011 Honda motor vehicle that was parked in her driveway and stole a Garmin GPS valued at $150 and assorted coins..

On June 28, a complainant from Princeton Road in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between June 27 at 10 p.m. and June 28 at 8 a.m., unknown person(s) entered her unlocked 2011 VW motor vehicle that was parked in her driveway and stole a driver license and $200.

On June 29, a complainant from Ormond Street in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) entered her 2006 ME/BE motor vehicle parked in the driveway sometime between June 27 at 6 p.m. and June 28 at 6:50 a.m., stole her pocketbook and left behind a cell phone.

On June 29, a complainant from S. Ocean Avenue in Freeport reported that unknown person(s) entered her motor vehicle parked in Municipal Parking Field No. 8 on June 27 sometime between 8:15 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. and stole her wallet and contents.

On June 30, a complainant from N. Centre Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) damaged the passenger side window to her 2001 Saturn motor vehicle parked in the rear of 274 N. Centre Ave. between June 29 at 11 p.m. and June 30 at 9 a.m. and stole a cell phone valued at $200.

On June 30, a complainant from Maine Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) damaged the passenger side window to her 2002 Toyota motor vehicle parked in the rear of 61 Maine Ave. between June 27 at 1:30 p.m. and June 30 at 1:40 p.m. and stole coins valued at approximately $5.

On June 30, a complainant from Driscoll Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) stole a duffle bag containing $1,000 from his bedroom sometime between June 28 at 12:30 a.m. and June 30 at 1:30 p.m.

On June 30, a complainant from Seagirt Boulevard in Queens reported that unknown person(s) stole $60 from a secured locker while at Bally’s, located at 60 Merrick Road in Rockville Centre between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

On June 30, a complainant from Daly Place in Lynbrook reported that unknown person(s) stole property including credit cards from a secured locker while at Bally’s, located at 60 Merrick Road in Rockville Centre, between 5:30 p.m. and 6:45 p.m.

On June 30, a complainant from Rockaway Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) stole his wallet from his unsecured motor vehicle parked in his driveway sometime between June 29 at 9 p.m. and June 30 at 11 a.m.

On June 30, a complainant from Berkley Street in Valley Stream reported that unknown person(s) stole his wallet from a secured locker while at Bally’s, located at 60 Merrick Road in Rockville Centre, between 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.

On June 30, a complainant from Hook Creek Boulevard in Rosedale reported that unknown person(s) stole property including credit cards from a secured locker while at Bally’s, located at  60 Merrick Road in Rockville Centre, between 4:45 p.m. and 6 p.m.

On July 3, a complainant from Vernon Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) entered his parked 2009 Toyota motor vehicle sometime between July 3 at midnight and July 4 at 8:30 a.m. and stole a Blackberry cell phone valued at $150.

On July 1, a complainant from Ardsley Place in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) stole assorted jewelry valued at approximately $2,750 and gift certificates valued at $100 from a bedroom dresser at her residence sometime between June 2 and July 1 at 8 p.m.

Unusual Incident:

On June 28, a complainant from Riverside Drive in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) opened a MasterCard account his name and made unauthorized purchases that were shipped to a S. Walnut Street, Lindenhurst address.

Criminal Mischief:

On June 27 at 2:37 p.m., a Holbrook resident reported an unknown person broke the front passenger window of his 2009 Chevrolet while it was parked in the lot of Dunkin Donuts, located at 574 Merrick Road between 1:15 p.m. and 2:10 p.m.

On June 30, a complainant from N. Centre Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) damaged the passenger side window to her 2000 Acura motor vehicle parked in the rear of 266 N. Centre Ave. between June 29 at 9:30 p.m. and June 30 at 2:15 p.m.

On June 30, a complainant from Maine Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) damaged the passenger side window to her 2011 Porsche motor vehicle parked in the rear of 61 Maine Ave. between June 23 at 7 a.m. and June 29 at 7 p.m.

On July 4, a complainant from Locust Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) damaged the driver window and driver side door handle of his 2004 Mitsubishi motor vehicle while it was parked in Municipal Parking Field No. 4 between July 3 at 10:15 p.m. and July 4 at 12:47 a.m.

Found Property:

On June 29 at 4:15 a.m., a complainant from Lakeview Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that he found a seven-foot white python snake in Municipal Parking Field No. 1. Found snake was removed to Parrots of the World on Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre for safekeeping.
