Crime Watch Part Two: $10K in Jewelry Stolen From Harvard Ave. Home

Recent police activity as reported by the RVC PD.

Larceny:

On Aug. 27 at 5:01 p.m., a gym member reported that an unknown person stole his Apple iPhone while he was inside Sportset, located at 40 Maple Ave. in Rockville Centre.

On Aug. 28 at 12:17 p.m., a Harvard Avenue resident reported that on July 5, she discovered that an unknown person(s) stole several items of jewelry valued at approximately $10,000 from her residence.   

On Aug. 29 at 12:42 p.m., an employee of JK Pro Audio, located at 205 Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre, reported that an unknown person stole his Apple laptop computer valued at approximately $2,600 from inside the store.     

On Aug. 29 at 9:15 p.m., a N. Village Avenue resident reported that an unknown person stole two State of North Carolina registration plates from her 2012 Chevrolet sometime between Aug. 28 at 7 p.m. and Aug. 29 at 9:15 p.m. while her vehicle was parked on N. Village Avenue.

On Aug. 30 at 10:15 a.m., a Hillside Avenue resident reported that unknown person(s) stole her Huffy bicycle valued at $200 from the corner of Greystone Road and N. Long Beach Road in Rockville Centre.   

On Aug. 30 at 5:41 p.m., a Seaman Avenue resident reported that sometime between Aug. 30 at noon and 5:40 p.m., unknown person(s) stole a UPS delivery of clothing from the front porch of his residence.

On Aug. 30 at 8:35 p.m., a gym member reported that unknown person(s) stole credit cards and personal papers from a locker at Bally’s, located at 60 Merrick Road in Rockville Centre.

On Aug. 30 at 8:35 p.m., a gym member reported that unknown person(s) stole $60, credit cards, and personal papers from a locker at Bally’s, located at 60 Merrick Road in Rockville Centre.

On Sept. 2 at 12:25 a.m., a Ronkonkoma resident reported her iPhone was stolen from the bathroom at a bar on N. Village Avenue.

Larceny from Auto (attempt):

On Sept. 2 at 5:09 a.m., a Marlborough Court resident reported an unknown person entered his vehicle while it was parked in his driveway. Several other residents on Marlborough Court also reported their vehicles had been entered overnight (no loss or damage reported).

Unusual Incident:

On Aug. 28 at 4:30 p.m., a Canterbury Road resident reported an unknown person created a fraudulent business check in the name of his company.

On Aug. 31 at 3 p.m., a Princeton road resident reported an unknown person attempted to open bank accounts in his name.

Criminal Mischief:

On Aug. 28 at 11:06 p.m., an Ardsley Circle resident reported his fence was damaged by an unknown person(s) sometime between 4-11:05 p.m.

On Aug. 29 at noon, a N. Centre Avenue resident reported the marker lights on his company vehicle were damaged by an unknown person(s) sometime between Aug. 20 at 5 p.m. and Aug. 27 at 5 p.m. while it was parked on Meehan Lane.

Assault:

On Aug. 29 at 12:21 p.m., a Linden Street resident reported he was assaulted on Aug. 28 at 9:45 p.m. by an unknown person while outside South Side Middle School, located at 67 Hillside Ave. in Rockville Centre. 

Leaving the Scene of an Auto Accident:

On Aug. 29 at 8:27 a.m., a Massapequa Park resident reported her 2007 Toyota was struck by another vehicle which left the scene while she was driving on Merrick Road in the vicinity of Ocean Avenue in Rockville Centre.

On Aug. 30 at 8:01 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Merrick Road in the vicinity of Windsor Avenue in which a motor vehicle had collided with a street sign. The operator abandoned the vehicle and left the scene on foot prior to police arrival.

Lost Property:

On Aug. 31 at 10 p.m., a Huntington resident reported losing cash and checks while driving from SSHS to Skelos Field.
