Crime Watch, Part II: Marijuana Cookies Given to 15-Year-Old

Juvenile Investigation

  • On April 27 at 1:14 p.m., a complainant from Chase Bank, located at 10 N. Village Ave. in Rockville Centre, reported that a 15-year-old female from Rockville Centre attempted to use another’s identification and debit card without authorization.
  • On April 27 at 11:40 p.m., a 15-year-old complainant from S. Centre Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that she was provided with cookies containing marijuana from an acquaintance while at a Rockville Centre residence on Seaman Avenue.
Larceny
  • On April 22 at 8 a.m., an Rockville Centre resident reported that unknown person(s) stole his wallet, credit cards, jewelry, and a GPS device from two unlocked motor vehicles owned by him and his wife while their vehicles were parked in their driveway on Allen Road.
  • On April 22 at 8:18 a.m., a Rockville Centre resident reported that unknown person(s) stole her pocketbook, gift cards, sunglasses, a GPS device, and $20 from her unlocked motor vehicle while it was parked in her driveway on Baylis Road.
  • On April 23 at 7:31 p.m., a complainant from Lynbrook reported that sometime between 6:45 p.m. and 7:31 p.m., an unknown person(s) entered his unlocked 2008 Nissan motor vehicle parked in Municipal Parking Field No. 7 in Rockville Centre. There was no reported loss at time of report.
  • On April 25 at 7:30 p.m., a complainant from Rockville Centre reported that sometime between 2:45 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., an unknown person(s) stole a backpack containing an Apple iPhone 5 valued at $650 and personal property from an unsecured locker in the men’s locker room at South Side High School, located at 140 Shepherd St. in Rockville Centre.
  • On April 25 at 1:20 p.m., a complainant from Hempstead reported that sometime between 12:45 p.m. and 1 p.m., an unknown person(s) stole a wallet containing $928, credit cards and personal property that was left in a bathroom at Mercy Medical Center, located at 1000 N. Village Ave. in Rockville Centre.
Trespass
  • On April 29 at 1:07 a.m., a complainant from Vernon Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that a male subject known to police personnel was observed on her property after a car alarm was activated in the driveway. The subject was observed fleeing on foot into the backyards on Vernon Avenue.
Unusual Incident
  • On April 22 at 3:51 p.m, a Rockville Centre resident reported that unknown person(s) used his personal information without authorization to open three credit card accounts in his name.
  • On April 22 at 7:41 p.m., a Rockville Centre resident reported that unknown person(s) requested that her mail be forwarded to a different address after she received an address change notification from the U.S. Postal Service.
  • On April 24 at 1:19 p.m., a complainant from Wantagh reported that since April 19, an unknown person(s) attempted to access a Chase credit card that was lost in the vicinity of Sunrise Highway and N. Village Avenue in Rockville Centre.
Harassment
  • On April 24 at 9 p.m., a complainant from Franklin Square reported that at approximately 9 p.m., a co-worker at a Sunrise Highway restaurant in Rockville Centre hit him with a stapler, causing a laceration below the left eye.
  • On April 27 at 3 p.m., a 14-year-old complainant from Rockville Centre reported that at approximately 2:30 p.m., an acquaintance threw a baseball from a passing car that struck his head causing no injury while in the vicinity of N. Long Beach Road and Voorhis Avenue in Rockville Centre.
