Crime Watch, Part II: 15-Year-Old Joy Ride, Graffiti Found

Larceny

  • On April 1 at 6 p.m., a complainant from Rockville Centre reported that sometime between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. unknown person(s) stole his Trek Navigator mountain bicycle from the bicycle stand located at Front Street and N. Park Avenue in Rockville Centre.
  • On April 4 at 11:11 a.m., a complainant South Hempstead reported that on sometime between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. on March 30, unknown person(s) stole a Nassau County Handicap Parking permit while her vehicle was parked in the Saint Agnes Cathedral Parking lot on Quealy Place in Rockville Centre.
  • On April 6 at 11:55 p.m., a complainant from Baldwin reported that sometime between 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., unknown person(s) entered his apparently unlocked 2009 Nissan motor vehicle parked at Best Western, located at 173 Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre, and stole an iPad valued at $600 and a pocketbook containing personal property including a credit card.

Unauthorized Use

  • On April 3 at 3:35 p.m., a complainant from Rockville Centre reported that on March 21 at 5:02 p.m., a 15-year-old acquaintance drove her 2011 Ford motor vehicle without authorization resulting in a property damage motor vehicle accident.

  • On April 4 at 5:30 p.m., a complainant from Freeport reported that sometime between 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., the front bumper of her 2004 Nissan motor vehicle was damaged by unknown means while parked at 1000 N. Village Ave. in Rockville Centre.
  • On April 6 at 1:15 p.m., a complainant from Lawrence reported that the passenger side rear door and quarter panel of her motor vehicle were damaged by unknown means while parked at Key Food, located at 399 Ocean Ave. in Rockville Centre.
  • On April 7 at 3:31 a.m., a complainant from Oceanside reported that sometime between 10 p.m. on April 5 and April 6, the roof of his 2013 Infiniti motor vehicle was damaged by unknown means while parked in Municipal Parking Field No. 8 in Rockville Centre.
  • On April 8 at 10:42 a.m., a complainant from Meehan Lane in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. on April 7, her front door was damaged by unknown means.

Graffiti

  • On April 6 at 10:32 a.m., police personnel located graffiti on cement pilings beneath the LIRR station on Morris Avenue in Rockville Centre.
  • On April 8 at 1:39 p.m., police personnel located graffiti that was painted on multiple traffic light boxes throughout vicinity of Rockville Centre.

  • On April 2 at 2:10 p.m., a complainant from N. Village Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that sometime since March 14, she lost a U.S. Permanent Resident Identification Card while in the vicinity of Rockville Centre.
