Crime Watch, Part II: 15 Larcenies Reported

Recent police activity as reported by the RVCPD.

Larceny

  • On April 29 at 8:40 a.m., a complainant from Aldred Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between 9 p.m. on April 28 and 7 a.m. on April 29, an unknown person(s) entered his unlocked 2013 Chevrolet motor vehicle parked in his driveway and stole a wallet containing credit cards.
  • On April 29 at 8:15 a.m., a complainant from Aldred Avenue, Rockville Centre reported that sometime between 8 p.m. on April 28 and 8 a.m. on April 29, an unknown person(s) entered two unlocked motor vehicles parked in front of the residence and stole two sunglasses valued at $200 each and $4.
  • On April 29 at 3:27 p.m., a complainant from N. Kensington Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) stole cash from her parked motor vehicle.
  • On April 29 at 6:35 p.m., a complainant from West Hempstead reported that sometime between 1:45 p.m. and 4:45 p.m., an unknown person(s) entered a secured locker at Bally’s, located at 60 Merrick Road in Rockville Centre, and stole a wallet containing $170, debit cards and personal paperwork.
  • On May 2 at 5:28 a.m., a complainant from State Street in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between 12:30 a.m. and 5:25 a.m., an unknown person(s) stole $110 and a Bank of America credit card from his unlocked 2012 Jeep motor vehicle parked in his driveway.
  • On May 2 at 9:08 a.m., a complainant from Fountain Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that sometime since April 26, her babysitter, who resides in Bellmore, stole $750 and assorted jewelry valued at approximately $5,000 from the residence.
  • On May 2 at 6:35 p.m., a complainant from Babylon reported that at approximately 4:30 p.m., her unattended Apple iPhone, valued at $200, was stolen from Mercy Medical Center, located at 1000 N. Village Ave. in Rockville Centre.
  • On May 2 at 5:58 p.m., a complainant from State Street in Rockville Centre reported that sometime since May 1, a Trek 5000 Hybrid bicycle valued at $1,000 was stolen from an unlocked garage at their residence.
  • On May 4 at 11:22 p.m., a complainant from Baldwin reported that two unknown males stole her Samsung Galaxy 2 cell phone valued at $329 while in the vicinity of N. Village Avenue and Front Street in Rockville Centre. The two suspects reportedly fled on foot northbound on N. Village Avenue.
  • On May 5 at 10:18 a.m., a complainant from Brevoort Place in Rockville Centre reported that at approximately 2:35 a.m., an unknown person(s) stole $40 and an EZ Pass from her 2010 Toyota motor vehicle parked in the driveway of her residence.
  • On May 3 at 4:10 p.m., a complainant from Baldwin reported that sometime between 7:30 p.m. on April 19 and 11 a.m. on April 20, an unknown person(s) stole a wrist watch valued at $1,500 and a wedding ring valued at $500 from her mother while at Mercy Medical Center, located at 1000 N. Village Ave. in Rockville Centre.
  • On May 6 at 9:15 a.m., a complainant from Lynbrook reported that sometime between 9 p.m. on May 5 and 12 a.m. on May 6, an unknown person(s) stole a wristlet containing Apple iPhone valued at $200 while at Dark Horse Tavern, located at 12 S. Park Ave. in Rockville Centre.
  • On May 6 at 3 p.m., a complainant from West Hempstead reported that sometime between 7:15 a.m. and 4 p.m. on May 1, an unknown person(s) entered her unlocked motor vehicle parked in front of 15 Front St. in Rockville Centre and removed a handicap parking placard.
  • On May 7 at 9:15 p.m., a complainant from Hollis reported that her boyfriend’s former girlfriend from Bay Shore stole assorted jewelry valued at approximately $1,000 and  damaged clothing while in his apartment at 80 Banks Ave. in Rockville Centre. The female subject then drove into victim’s parked motor vehicle causing damage while leaving.
  • On May 8 at 1:57 p.m., a complainant from Rockville Centre reported that sometime between 8:10 a.m. and 8:45 a.m., an unknown person(s) stole an Apple iPhone valued at $400 from an unsecured locker at South Side High School, located 140 Shepherd St. in Rockville Centre. The complainant reported that a same model Apple iPhone had been similarly stolen on May 2.
Unusual Incident
  • On April 29 at 6:49 p.m., a complainant from Rockville Centre reported that sometime since Jan. 28, an unknown person(s) opened a checking account using his personal information, transferred $25,000 from a line of credit and withdrew $906 without authorization.
  • On April 30 at 12:38 p.m., a complainant from Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) made unauthorized charges of $256.79 against her Kohl’s credit card account.
  • On April 30 at 5:30 p.m., a complainant from Rockville Centre reported that sometime since April 12, an unknown person(s) borrowed $23.034 from PYOD, LLC creditor using his personal information without authorization.
  • On May 1 at 9:02 p.m., a 16-year-old female complainant from Jefferson Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that at approximately 4:45 p.m., while in the vicinity of N. Forest Avenue and Maple Avenue, an unknown male attempted to solicit her to model for a calendar for Behave Company causing annoyance and alarm.
  • On May 1 at 10:15 p.m., a complainant from Rockville Centre reported that sometime since April 29, an unknown person(s) cashed a personal check for $1,600 against his personal account without authorization.
  • On May 2 at 1:40 p.m., a complainant from Rockville Centre reported that sometime since April 2, an unknown person(s) charged $1690.15 against her Bloomingdale’s charge account without authorization.
  • On May 6 at 11:01 a.m., the director at Maple Pointe, located at 260 Maple Ave. in Rockville Centre, reported that a suspicious smoldering from a fire of unknown origin was discovered in a basket of laundry linens by staff.
  • On May 6 at 7:35 p.m., a complainant from Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) made two unauthorized transactions totaling $163.95 against her Chase credit card.
Criminal Mischief
  • On April 29 at 10:39 a.m., complainant assistant manager from Lucille Roberts, located at 298 Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre, reported that sometime between 8 p.m. on April 26 and 9 a.m. on April 27, an unknown person(s) damaged an exterior phone box and phone lines without authorization.
  • On April 29 at 10:53 p.m., a complainant from Freeport reported that sometime between 4:30 p.m. and 10:35 p.m., an unknown person(s) damaged his 2002 Mercury motor vehicle while it was parked at Molloy College, located at 1000 Hempstead Ave. in Rockville Centre.
Property Damage
  • On May 2 at 11:45 a.m., a complainant from Baldwin reported that sometime between 9:28 a.m. and 10:36 a.m., the rear driver side door panel of his 2004 Honda motor vehicle was damaged by unknown means while parked in the vicinity of S. Village Avenue and Merrick Road in Rockville Centre.
  • On May 2 at 1:15 p.m., a complainant from Jefferson Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m., the passenger side of her 2007 Honda motor vehicle was damaged by unknown means while parked in the vicinity of Jefferson Avenue in Rockville Centre.
Found Property
  • On April 29 at 11:01 a.m., a security guard from South Side High School, located at 128 Shepherd St. in Rockville Centre, reported that she found a small plastic bag containing unknown white powder on the floor in a hallway.
  • On May 5 at 2:45 a.m., a complainant from Stonehenge in Rockville Centre reported that an unknown person in a silver motor vehicle placed a suspicious brown briefcase in the street in front of her residence; the briefcase was found to contain assorted paperwork.
