Crime Watch: Multiple Cars Broken Into, 3 iPads Stolen

Recent police activity as reported by the RVCPD.

Larceny

  • On Jan. 28 at 9 p.m., a complainant from Lynbrook reported that unknown person(s) damaged the passenger side window of his 2011 Honda motor vehicle while parked in front of 36 Merrick Road in Rockville Centre between 8 and 9 p.m. and stole a backpack containing a stethoscope valued at $95 and assorted checks.
  • On Jan. 28 at 9:23 p.m., a complainant from Springfield Gardens reported that unknown person(s) damaged the passenger side window of his 2005 GMC motor vehicle while parked in front of 60 Merrick Road in Rockville Centre between 8 and 9:20 p.m. and stole an iPad valued at $840.
  • On Jan. 29 at 3:35 p.m., a complainant from Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) damaged the driver side door of his 2013 Dodge motor vehicle while parked in Municipal Parking Field No. 8 between 8:30 9:30 p.m. and stole an iPad valued at $600 and an Avesos computer valued at $1,200.
  • On Jan. 30 at 2:25 p.m., a complainant from Williston Park reported that on Jan. 28 at approximately 8:30 p.m., unknown person(s) stole his Apple iPad valued at $400 and two external hard drives valued at $200 from his 2011 Ford motor vehicle while it was parked in Municipal Parking Field No. 8 in Rockville Centre.
  • On Jan. 31 at 7:15 a.m., a complainant from Rockaway Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between 1 and 7 a.m., unknown person(s) removed automobile parts valued at $11,534.99 from the rear yard of their residence.
  • On Jan. 31 at 11:54 p.m., a complainant from Oceanside reported that sometime between 8 and 11:45 p.m., unknown person(s) stole her 2003 Audi motor vehicle while it was parked in Municipal Parking Field No. 4 in Rockville Centre.
  • On Feb. 1 at 11:30 a.m., a complainant from Meehan Lane in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between 1 a.m. and 9 p.m.on Jan. 31, unknown person(s) removed baseball cards valued at $2,700 and prescription medications from a safe located beneath her bed.
  • On Feb. 3 at 6:25 p.m., a Woodmere resident reported an unknown person broke the window of his vehicle and stole his GPS device and wallet containing credit cards.

Unusual Incident

  • On Jan. 30 at 11:50 a.m., a complainant from Reid Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) made an unauthorized $50 transaction against her NEFCU account on Jan. 29.

Harassment

  • On Feb. 6 at 9 p.m., a complainant from Banks Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that between Feb. 5 and Feb. 6, an unknown person(s) sent her text messages causing annoyance and alarm.

Criminal Mischief

  • On Feb. 4 at 12:55 p.m., a complainant from Rockville Centre reported that the rear window of her 2012 BMW motor vehicle was damaged by unknown means while parked in Municipal Parking Field No. 3 in Rockville Centre between 9 p.m. on Feb. 3 and 9:59 a.m. on Feb. 4.
  • On Feb. 4 at 1:40 p.m., a complainant from S. Centre Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) damaged the cable wire for their apartment sometime between 12 and 1:30 p.m.

Property Damage

  • On Feb. 3 at 4:25 p.m., a Jefferson Avenue resident reported his vehicle was damaged by unknown means while it was parked in the building lot during the afternoon.

Fire

  • On Feb. 2 at 9:27 a.m., police and fire personnel responded to Berkshire Road in Rockville Centre for a dryer fire. The fire was extinguished by RVCFD.
