Crime Watch: More Prostitution Arrests

Recent police activity as reported by the RVC PD.

Arrests:

On Nov. 9 at 9:59 p.m., Miguel A. Morales, 46, of Mastic, was arrested for second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and VTL violations after being observed operating a 2003 Chevrolet while in the vicinity of Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre.

On Nov. 13 at approximately 11:03 p.m., Yonghua Yangi, 43, of Flushing, was arrested for prostitution following an investigation by police personnel on Lenox Road in Rockville Centre.

On Nov. 13 at approximately 10:14 p.m., Charmaine V. McIntosh, 53, of Far Rockaway, was arrested for prostitution following an investigation by police personnel on Lenox Road in Rockville Centre.

On Nov. 13 at approximately 9:05 p.m., Christina A. Ferkey, 29, of Shasta Lake, N.Y., was arrested for prostitution following an investigation by police personnel on Lenox Road in Rockville Centre.

On Nov. 12 at approximately 2:10 p.m., Andrew Gash, 18, of S. Hempstead, was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana following an investigation of police personnel in the vicinity of Knollwood Road in Rockville Centre.

On Nov. 12 at approximately 8:08 a.m., Thomas J. Palumbo, 46, of Westbury, was arrested for DWI following an investigation by police personnel of an auto accident that occurred in the vicinity of Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre.

On Nov. 15 at 10:44 p.m., Kenneth V. Hock Jr., 46, of Rockville Centre, was arrested for disorderly conduct while in front of his residence.

Robbery:

On Nov. 14 at 2:35 p.m., a complainant sales person from Wink New York located at 281 Merrick Road in Rockville Centre, reported that she was assaulted during a larceny of clothing by two females who fled on foot on Merrick Road.

Burglary:

On Nov. 9 at 7:49 p.m., a complainant from Norcross Street in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) entered her 2008 Toyota parked in the driveway, removed the keys from the glove compartment, and entered an enclosed porch to the residence without permission sometime between 12:30 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. There was no reported damage or loss at the time of investigation.

On Nov. 9 at 8:40 a.m., a complainant from N. Village Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) stole his 2000 Buick that was parked in the driveway of his residence sometime between 12:01 a.m. and 7:15 a.m. On Nov. 9 at 7:51 p.m., the complainant reported that unknown person(s) had apparently entered the residence and removed approximately $300 and ten sheets of postage stamps valued at $88 from his wife's wallet that was on the kitchen counter overnight.

Larceny:

On Nov. 9, a complainant sales manager from the Lexus dealership located at 700 Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre, reported that unknown person(s) stole a 2010 Lexus sometime between Aug. 15 and Nov. 6.

On Nov. 9, complainant owner from Dunkin Donuts, located 574 Merrick Road in Rockville Centre, reported that on two occasions a female customer accused his employees of short changing her $10. Store security video reportedly shows the female subject placing a ten dollar bill in her bra as she left the store before alleging that she did not receive correct change for the purchase.

Criminal Mischief:

On Nov. 15, complainant director of the Sandel Senior Center at 50 S. Park Ave. in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between Nov. 13 at 2 p.m. and Nov. 15 at 9 a.m., person(s) removed approximately seventeen pickets from a vinyl fence at that location.

Graffiti:

On Nov. 12, a complainant owner from Star Cleaners on Merrick Road in Rockville Centre reported that an unknown person damaged the building wall and dumpster in the rear of her business by spray painting graffiti on Nov. 11 sometime between noon and 2 p.m.

Property Damage:

On Nov. 9, a complainant from Sackman Street in Brooklyn reported that unknown person(s) damaged the tail light to her 2005 VW while it was parked at Molloy College, located 1000 Hempstead Ave. in Rockville Centre, between 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.

On Nov. 12, a complainant from Clinch Avenue in Garden City reported that his 2010 Infiniti was damaged by unknown means while parked at 2000 N. Village Avenue  in Rockville Centre between 5:45 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.

Unusual Incident:

On Nov. 14, a complainant principal from Riverside Elementary School, located at 110 Riverside Drive in Rockville Centre, reported to police that unknown person(s) caused fire residue that was discovered on the south side of the school.

On Nov. 12, a complainant from Merrick Road in Rockville Centre reported that he transferred $3,140 at the Western Union located at King Kullen on Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre to purchase a motor vehicle listed on Craig's List and has been unable to contact the recipient of the monies, and has not taken possession of the vehicle since the transaction was completed on Nov. 5.

On Nov. 15 at 4:50 p.m., complainant owner of Long Island Outdoorsman located at 434 Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre, reported a suspicious male from Brooklyn attempted to purchase gunpowder, metal BBs and a metal container to make model rockets. Police personnel stopped and identified the subject in the vicinity of Sunrise Highway and N. Centre Avenue in Rockville Centre.

Identity Theft:

On Nov. 12, a complainant from Wellesley Road in Rockville Centre reported to police that unknown person(s) added an authorized buyer to her Bloomingdale's Visa and Macy's Visa cards resulting in unauthorized purchases of $2,842.71 and $2,418.90 Nov. 3 and Nov. 12.
