Crime Watch: Man Robbed at Gunpoint on Meehan Lane

Recent police activity as reported by the RVC PD.

Arrests:

On Dec. 10 at approximately 11:46 p.m., Omar A. Rosario, 34, of Freeport, was arrested for fourth-degree criminal mischief following an investigation by police personnel on Hempstead Avenue in Rockville Centre.

On Dec. 11 at approximately 2:46 a.m., Juan P. Benavides, 22, of Freeport, was arrested for disorderly conduct following an investigation by police personnel at Kasey's Bar, located at 23 N. Park Ave. in Rockville Centre.

Robbery:

On Dec. 12 at approximately 10:15 p.m., a complainant from 105th  Ave., Jamaica, Queens, reported that he was robbed by gunpoint by two unknown males while he was parked on Meehan Lane in Rockville Centre. The subjects reportedly fled from the scene in a gray Toyota Sienna with proceeds that included the victim's wallet and cell phone. A short time later, police personnel located the subject's vehicle on Meehan Lane, however, no arrests were made and no proceeds were recovered at the time of investigation as the occupants were not identified as participating in the robbery.

Larceny:

On Dec. 12, a complainant from Freeman Avenue in Oceanside reported that unknown person(s) damaged the rear passenger side window of her 2010 Lexus and stole her cell phone while the vehicle was parked in MPF No. 8 in Rockville Centre between 8:55 a.m. and 10:15 a.m.

On Dec. 12, a complainant from N. Forest Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) stole $120 from a bedroom closet in her residence sometime on Nov. 15 at 7:30 a.m.

On Dec. 12, a complainant from N. Long Beach Road in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) stole a Sirius satellite radio from her unlocked 1999 Toyota that was parked in her driveway between Dec. 11 at 6:30 p.m. and Dec. 12 at 11 a.m.

Unusual Incident:

On Dec. 11, a complainant from Yale Place in Rockville Centre reported that after providing personal information prompted by a fraudulent Chase Bank e-mail, unknown person(s) made an unauthorized debit of $6,850 from his Chase bank account.
