Crime Watch: Freeport Man Shot Twice Near Morgan Days

Recent police activity as reported by the RVC PD.

The following information was supplied by the RVC Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Attempted Burglary: 

On July 19 at 12:15 p.m., a Reeve Road resident reported he received a call from his alarm company while he was at work notifying him that his house burglar alarm had been activated at about 11:51 AM. Upon inspecting his home, he discovered an unknown person cut the screen to his sliding glass door and opened a basement window in an attempt to gain entry into his home.

Assault:

On July 20 at 10:40 p.m., the police department was notified by South Nassau Hospital staff of a victim with a gunshot wound in the emergency room. The victim, a 25-year-old male Freeport resident, initially told officers the shooting occurred on Merrick Road. Further investigation revealed the victim was shot twice in the leg while in the Morgan Days North Parking Field behind Old Mill Court.
