Crime Watch: Freeport Man Caught with 38 Grams of Cocaine on Maple Avenue

Recent police activity in Rockville Centre as reported by the RVC PD.

Arrests:

On Sept. 7 at 8:40 a.m., Michael P. Kircheim, 28, of Lynbrook, was arrested for DWI following a motor vehicle accident investigation by police personnel on N. Village Avenue at Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre.

On Sept. 8 at 10:51 p.m., James E. Conway, 16, of Rockville Centre, was arrested for making graffiti while in the vicinity of Municipal Parking Field No. 26 in Rockville Centre.

On Sept. 10 at 3:10 a.m., Carlos R. Fuentes, 45, of Valley Stream, was arrested for DWI and VTL violations while in the vicinity of Sunrise Highway and N. Park Avenue in Rockville Centre following a motor vehicle accident investigation by police personnel.

On Sept. 11 at approximately 7:01 p.m., Christopher B. Alexander, 32, of Freeport, was arrested on Maple Avenue in the vicinity of N. Long Beach Road in Rockville Centre. Approximately 38 grams of crack cocaine and powdered cocaine were recovered from the defendant's vehicle along with $2,687 in mostly small denominations. The subject was placed under arrest and charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree CPCS (Intent to sell), and second-degree criminal usage of drug paraphernalia. Defendant also had an open bench warrant from Allegheny County, Penn. for a sex offense.

Burglary:

On Sept. 14 at 7:55 p.m., a complainant from Raymond Street in Rockville Centre reported that at approximately 1:30 a.m., unknown person(s) entered his residence and went through drawers on the first floor of his residence while he was upstairs. There was no reported loss at the time of report and access was apparently gained through an unsecured den window.

On Sept. 14 at 3 a.m., a complainant from Eton Road in Rockville Centre reported that his den window was found wide open and unknown person(s) had stolen a Dell lap top computer valued at $2,500, a Canon Rebel Camera valued at $5,000 and an Apple iPOD from the downstairs of his residence while he was upstairs sleeping. 

Larceny:

On Sept. 9, a complainant from Charles Street in Lynbrook reported that unknown person stole a leaf blower backpack valued at $500 from the driveway of 256 Burtis Ave. in Rockville Centre where he was working.

On Sept. 10, a complainant from S. Park Avenue in Rockville Centre reported to police that unknown person(s) stole two bags of bread rolls valued at $35 from the front of Rockville Centre Food Centre sometime between 5-7 a.m.

On Sept. 12, a complainant from N. Forest Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) stole a GPS from his 2006 Subaru parked in the driveway of his residence between Sept. 11 at 3 p.m. and Sept. 12 at 8:30 a.m

On Sept. 12, a complainant from N. Forest Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) stole a GPS and camera from her 2009 Toyota parked in the driveway of her residence between Sept. 11 at 4 p.m. and Sept 12 at 8 a.m.

On Sept. 12, a complainant from Astor Place in Roosevelt reported that unknown person(s) stole her 1995 Toyota parked in the parking lot of T.G.I. Fridays at 716 Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre sometime between 3-11 p.m.  

On Sept. 13, a complainant from S. Long Beach Avenue in Freeport reported that unknown person(s) stole her pocketbook and contents from her 2002 ME/BZ motor vehicle parked in the parking lot of Taco Bell at 570 Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre between 12:10 a.m. and 1 a.m.

On Sept. 13, a complainant from Eastern Drive in New Hyde Park reported to police that unknown person(s) stole $300 from his 2006 Chrysler that was parked at Skelos Field on Peninsula Boulevard in Rockville Centre between 2-6 p.m.

On Sept. 13, a complainant from 43rd Avenue in Elmhurst reported to police that unknown person(s) stole an Apple iPOD valued at $200 from his 2010 Nissan that was parked at Skelos Field on Peninsula Boulevard in Rockville Centre between 2-4 p.m.

On Sept. 13, a complainant from 149th Road in Rosedale reported to police that unknown person(s) stole an Apple iPhone, a wristwatch and $25 from his 1998 Isuzu that was parked at Skelos Field on Peninsula Boulevard in Rockville Centre between 2-4 p.m.

On Sept. 13, a complainant from Salem Road in Valley Stream reported to police that unknown person(s) damaged the driver side door lock and stole his wallet and $105 from his 2000 Toyota that was parked at Skelos Field on Peninsula Boulevard in Rockville Centre between 2-6 p.m.

On Sept. 13, a complainant from N. Terrace Place in Valley Stream reported to police that unknown person(s) stole an Apple iTouch and a Blackberry cell phone from his 1998 Dodge that was parked at Skelos Field on Peninsula Boulevard in Rockville Centre between 2-4 p.m.

On Sept. 14, a complainant from Hempstead Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) stole two bicycles from the detached garage at her residence sometime between Sept. 13 at 11:45 p.m. and Sept. 14 at 7 a.m.

On Sept. 14, at 10:14 p.m., a complainant from Rockaway Avenue in Oceanside reported that unknown person(s) stole his 1997 Toyota Tercel from the parking lot of 7-11 located at 324 Merrick Road in Rockville Centre. The complainant reported that the vehicle was unlocked with keys in ignition and engine running at time of reported theft.

Graffiti:

On Sept. 8,, a complainant from the Sandel Senior Center at 50 S. Park Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) placed graffiti on the gazebo at that location sometime between Sept. 5 at 3 p.m. and Sept. 8 at 8:30 a.m. 

Criminal Mischief:

On Sept. 13, a complainant from Thixton Avenue in East Rockaway reported that unknown person(s) damaged his 2008 ME/BZ by scratching the driver side without permission.

Unusual Incident:

On Sept. 14, a complainant from Hamilton Road in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) made unauthorized purchases against her AMEX Blue, AMEX Platinum, and Chase Visa debit accounts between Aug. 10 and Sept. 10.

Harassment:

On Sept. 7 at 8:55 a.m., a Hempstead Avenue resident reported receiving numerous threatening telephone calls.

On Sept. 7 at 12:15 p.m., a Seaman Avenue resident reported she was annoyed and alarmed by messages posted on her Facebook page.

On Sept. 7 at 9 p.m., a Powell Avenue resident reported receiving a threatening telephone call from an unknown person.

On Sept. 9, a complainant from Hampshire Road in Rockville Centre reported that she has received harassing notes through the mail from unknown person(s).
