Crime Watch: Five Men Arrested on Burtis Avenue for Suspicious Activity

Recent police activity reported by the RVC PD.

Arrests:

On Nov. 4 at approximately 2:09 a.m., Francis A. Monano Paez, 24, of Freeport, was arrested for trespassing following an investigation by police personnel in the vicinity of Burtis Avenue in Rockville Centre.

On Nov. 4 at approximately 1:06 a.m, Robert D. Garcia, 19, of Freeport, was arrested for second-degree assault, fourth-degree possession of a dangerous weapon and trespassing following an investigation by police personnel in the vicinity of Burtis Avenue in Rockville Centre.

On Nov. 4 at approximately 1:06 a.m., Jose Rodriguez, 21, of Freeport, was arrested for second-degree assault and trespassing following an investigation by police personnel in the vicinity of Burtis Avenue in Rockville Centre.

On Nov. 4 at approximately 1:06 a.m., Harry Esquea, 19, of Merrick, was arrested for fourth-degree possession of a dangerous weapon and trespassing following an investigation by police personnel in the vicinity of Burtis Avenue in Rockville Centre.

On Nov. 4 at approximately 1:06 a.m., a 16-year-old male from Freeport was arrested for second-degree assault, fourth-degree possession of a dangerous weapon and trespassing following an investigation by police personnel in the vicinity of Burtis Avenue in Rockville Centre.

On Nov. 6 at approximately 1:24 a.m., Eric D. Ferguson, 28, of Hempstead, was arrested for DWI, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and VTL violations after being observed operating a 2005 Infiniti on Shepherd Street and N. Long Beach Road in Rockville Centre.

On Nov. 7 at approximately 1:54 a.m., Mohammad Zahher, 30, of Jackson Heights was arrested for DWI and VTL violation following an investigation by police personnel at Sunrise Highway and Ocean Avenue in Rockville Centre.

Assault:

On Nov. 6 at approximately 11:45 p.m., a complainant from Linden Boulevard in Cambria Heights reported to police that she was assaulted by her boyfriend who punched her in the face while they were in the parking lot of TGIF located at 716 Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre.

Larceny:

On Nov. 3, a complainant from 265 Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) stole a laptop computer from a desk located in an office at that location.

On Nov. 4, a complainant from Spencer Avenue in Lynbrook reported that unknown person(s) damaged the window to his 2010 Cadillac and stole property that included his wallet while it was parked in Municipal Parking Field No. 3 between 7:30 a.m. and 8:15 a.m.

On Nov. 4, a complainant from Bedford Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) entered his unlocked motor vehicle and stole property that included his wallet while it was parked in Municipal Parking Field No. 8 between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m.

On Nov. 5, a complainant from Jefferson Avenue in Rockville Centre reported to police that unknown person(s) removed a cell phone from his unattended jacket while at the Recreation Center located at 111 Oceanside Road in Rockville Centre.

On Nov. 6, a complainant from Rhame Avenue in East Rockaway reported that unknown person(s) stole a pocketbook from her unlocked 2008 Honda parked at the Long Island Railroad station on south Front Street between 6:15 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Criminal Mischief:

On Nov. 4, a complainant from Pacific Boulevard in Long Beach reported that unknown person(s) damaged the window to his 2009 Audi while it was parked in Municipal Parking Field  No. 3 between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m.

Harassment:

On Nov. 6, a complainant from Barbara Street in Elmont reported to police that a co-worker harassed her by pushing and grabbing hair while working at Dunn's River Bar located 93 N. Park Ave. in Rockville Centre on Nov. 5 at around 10:30 p.m. 

On Nov. 8, after conferring with the South Side Middle School assistant principal, a complainant from Lakeview Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that his daughter received a harassing letter from unknown person(s).

On Nov. 5, a complainant from Hanover Place in Rockville Centre reported to police that unknown person(s) subscribed to 18 magazines using his personal information without authorization.

Property Damage:

On Nov. 6, complainant owner from Halperin Foot Wear on N. Village Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) damaged a storefront glass window valued at approximately $1,000 sometime between 2:45 a.m. and 2:48 a.m.

Juvenile Investigations:

On Nov. 5, a complainant from Hendricksen Avenue in Rockville Centre reported to police that her son was harassed by a sixth-grade student while at South Side Middle School located at 67 Hillside Ave. in Rockville Centre on Nov. 3.

On Nov. 5, complainant owner from Jenny's Stationary located at 197 Brower Ave. in Rockville Centre reported to police that approximately a dozen 12-14 year old youths entered her store, stole merchandise, and then pushed her causing a minor injury when she attempted to stop them from leaving prior to police arrival.

Unusual Incident:

On Nov. 4, a complainant from Sherman Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) made purchases totaling $314.58 from her NEFCU checking account without authorization.

On Nov. 4, a complainant from Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) made purchases totaling $99.97 from his NEFCU checking account without authorization.

On Nov. 2, a complainant from Rockaway Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) made purchases totaling $2,031.58 from her NEFCU checking account without authorization.
