Crime Watch: DWI Arrests and Two Home Burglaries

The following information was supplied by the Rockville Centre Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Arrest:

On Aug. 14 at 10:23 p.m., Ramon O. Quirez, 63, of Rego Park, was arrested for driving while intoxicated following an investigation by police personnel in the vicinity of Sunrise Highway and Morris Avenue in Rockville Centre.

On Aug. 16 at 1:04 a.m., George L Melendez, 49, Middlefield, Conn., was arrested for ability impaired (drugs), unlawful possession of marijuana and VTL violations following an investigation by police personnel in the vicinity of Merrick Road in Rockville Centre.

On Aug. 19 at 11:34 p.m., Bayron Lopez, 25, of Uniondale, was arrested for driving while intoxicated and VTL violation following an investigation by police personnel in the vicinity N. Long Beach Road in Rockville Centre.

Burglary:

On Aug. 16 at 5:25 p.m., a complainant from Middle Road, Lake George reported that sometime between April 1 at 9 a.m. and Aug. 16 at 5 p.m., unknown person(s) entered his parents residence on Hempstead Avenue in Rockville Centre without authorization and stole a Mongoose Mountain bicycle valued at $1,250 from the basement.

On Aug. 18 at 12:29 a.m., a complainant from Hillside Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between Aug. 18 at 2:30 p.m. and Aug. 19 at 12:29 a.m., unknown person(s) damaged a side door, entered her residence, and stole $2,340 from a second-floor bedroom.
