Crime Watch: DPW Burglarized for $10K Worth of Equipment

Recent police activity as reported by the RVC PD.

Arrests:

On Dec. 15 at 10:30 p.m., Ronald B. Lytle, 56, of Queens, was arrested for seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance following an investigation by police personnel at 2000 N. Village Ave. in Rockville Centre.

On Dec. 15 at 10:30 p.m., Jean E. Muzac, 59, of New York City, was arrested for seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance following an investigation by police personnel at 2000 N. Village Ave. in Rockville Centre.

On Dec. 18, Sendell J. Garrett, 30, of Roosevelt, was arrested for larceny and DWI following an investigation by police personnel regarding the theft of construction supplies from Rockville Centre DPW located at 10 Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre.

On Dec. 13, a complainant manager from Lakeview Mercedes Benz located at 650 Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between Dec. 12 at 4 p.m. and Dec. 13 at 9 a.m., unknown person(s) stole eight wheels valued at $12,785 from two 2011 ME BZ vehicles parked in the fenced lot at the automobile dealership.

On Dec. 15, a complainant from N. Village Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that both NYS license plates were stolen from her 1999 Ford that was parked in the rear of her residence between 12:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

On Dec. 15, a complainant from Citgo gas station located at 128 N. Village Ave. in Rockville Centre reported that a female from Roberta Lane in N. Merrick purchased $52 worth of gasoline with a fraudulent credit card.

On Dec. 16, a complainant from Madison Avenue in Cedarhurst reported that a cell phone and $40 were stolen from a locker at Bally's, located at 60 Merrick Road in Rockville Centre on Dec. 15, sometime between 10:40 p.m. and 11:53 p.m.

On Dec. 16, complainant RC DPW Supervisor reported that unknown person(s) stole sewer construction supplies that included manhole covers, framing grates, and curb castings valued at approximately $10,000 from the parking lot of 10 Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre sometime between Dec. 14 at 1 p.m. and Dec. 16 at 12:45 p.m.

On Dec. 16, a complainant from LA Grange Road in Delmar, NY, reported that unknown person(s) damaged the front passenger window to his 2010 Dodge and stole a Motion Tablet PC, Garmin GPS, and sunglasses while the vehicle was parked at TGIF located at 716 Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre on Dec. 6 between 6:45 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.

On Dec. 17, a complainant from Elliott Boulevard in Oceanside reported that unknown person(s) damaged the rear passenger side window of his 2006 Jeep and stole his Nextar GPS navigation device while the vehicle was parked at Mercy Medical Center located at 1000 N. Village Ave. in Rockville Centre between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.

On Dec. 17, a complainant from Smith Street in Freeport reported that unknown person(s) stole her purse from the front counter of Busy Bee Cleaners located at 566 Merrick Road in Rockville Centre on Dec. 16 sometime between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

On Dec. 18, a complainant from Brooklyn Avenue in Freeport reported that unknown person(s) stole her pocketbook from Stingers Bar located at 300 Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre on Dec. 17 at approximately 9 p.m.

On Dec. 18, a complainant from Pennsylvania Avenue in Island Park reported that unknown person(s) stole six cough medicines valued at $30 total from CVS Pharmacy located  at 155 Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre at approximately 10:35 p.m.

On Dec. 18, a complainant from Hempstead Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) stole her purse while in the vicinity of Rockville Centre sometime between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m.

Unusual Incident:

On Dec. 15, a complainant from Cambridge Street in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) changed the address to his Citibank credit card without authorization.

Property Damage:

On Dec. 14, a complainant from Hampshire Road in Rockville Centre reported damage to a bedroom window by unknown means.

On Dec. 17, a complainant from Winding Road in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) damaged a window and window screen valued at approximately $230 total with a water bottle.

On Dec. 17, a complainant from Meehan Lane in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) damaged her 1992 Toyota by unknown means sometime between 2:33 p.m. and 10:45 p.m.

On Dec. 20, a complainant from Meehan Lane in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) damaged his 2001 Ford motor vehicle by unknown means sometime between Dec.19 at 5 p.m. and Dec. 20 at 6 a.m.

On Dec. 13, a complainant from DeMott Place in Rockville Centre reported that her kitchen window was damaged by unknown means sometime between 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m.
