Crime Watch: Car Break-Ins at Molloy College

Recent police activity as reported by the RVC PD.

Arrest:

On Feb. 17, Tina M. Scaccio-Lam, 51, of Elmont, was arrested for aggravated unlicensed operation and VTL violations following a police investigation on Clinton Avenue in Rockville Centre.

On Feb. 21 at 1:30 a.m., English W. Thomas, 27, of Uniondale, was arrested for fourth-degree criminal possession of controlled substance following a police investigation on Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre.

On Feb. 19 at 3:30 p.m., Joseph Dixon, 23, of Uniondale, was arrested for fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana following a police investigation on Adams Street in Uniondale.

On Feb. 19 at 3:30 p.m., Benjamin Peoples, 52, of Uniondale, was arrested for fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance following a police investigation at his residence.

On Feb. 22 at 9:12 p.m., Lanford A. Anderson, 54, of Laurelton, was arrested for aggravated unlicensed operation and VTL violations following a police investigation on Sunrise Highway in  Rockville Centre.

Robbery (attempt):

On Feb. 15, a thirteen-year-old male complainant reported that four male acquaintances attempted to rob him by threatening physical force while at Dunkin Donuts, located at 61 N. Village Ave. in Rockville Centre on Feb. 11 at 8:30 p.m.

Reckless Endangerment:

On Feb. 21 at 12:24 a.m., police personnel responded to N. Park Avenue and Front Street in Rockville Centre for a reported male firing a gunshot from a silver revolver toward a group of males in the vicinity. Subject fled on foot eastbound on Front Street in Rockville Centre; there were no reported injuries or victims at the scene at the time of investigation.

Larceny:

On Feb. 14, an Ariens snow blower valued at $1,200 was reported stolen by unknown person(s) from a Rockaway Avenue driveway sometime between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.

On Feb. 22 at 2:10 p.m., complainant owner of CD Warehouse on Merrick Road in Rockville Centre reported that unknown persons stole a CD from the store and fled in a 2006 Kia.

On Feb. 23, a complainant from 84th Road in Jamaica reported that sometime between 5:30 p.m. and 7:35 p.m., unknown person(s) damaged a passenger door window to her 2007 VW Jetta and stole a GPS while it was parked at Molloy College, located at 1000 Hempstead Ave. in Rockville Centre.

On Feb. 23, a complainant from Gerard Drive in East Hampton reported that sometime between 4:45 and 9:30 p.m., unknown person(s) damaged a passenger door window to her 2010 motor vehicle and stole a GPS and iPod while it was parked at Molloy College, located at 1000 Hempstead Ave. in Rockville Centre.

Unusual Incident:

On Feb. 21, a complainant from N. Forest Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that at 3:10 p.m., an unknown male alleging to be a Cablevision employee attempted to gain entry into her apartment for a supposed cable box issue that did not exist. Cablevision representatives reported that no one was sent to complainant’s residence and the subject was reportedly observed leaving the scene in an unmarked white van.

On Feb. 14, a complainant from Jefferson Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that on Feb. 11, unknown person(s) made unauthorized charges totaling $60 against his Emigrant Bank debit card.

Identity Theft:

On Feb. 15 at 1:25 p.m., a complainant from Clinton Street in Hempstead reported that an acquaintance from Clinton Avenue in Rockville Centre opened a Cablevision account with his identification without authorization.

On Feb. 19, a complainant from Roxbury Road in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) made unauthorized charges on her Visa Gold account totaling $226.60 on Feb. 11.

Property Damage:

On Feb. 16, a complainant from Bedford, New York reported that sometime between 10:45 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., unknown person(s) damaged a passenger door to her 2009 Infiniti while it was parked at NEFCU, located at 556 Merrick Road in Rockville Centre.

On Feb. 17, a complainant from Merrick Road in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between Feb. 16 at 6 p.m. and Feb. 17 at 7:50 a.m., the rear of his 2004 Nissan was damaged by unknown means.

On Feb. 15 at 5:15 p.m., a complainant from Meehan Lane in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) damaged the hood of her parked 2010 Kia.

On Feb. 18, a complainant from Maple Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between 1:30 a.m. and 10 a.m., the driver side doors of his 2000 Cadillac were damaged by unknown means while parked in front of his residence.
