Crime Watch: Alleged 'Home Goods' Shoplifters Nabbed

Recent police activity as reported by the RVC PD.

The following crime report and arrest information was supplied by the RVC Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Arrests:

On Sept. 22 at about 2:31 p.m., Gloria Arrubla, 53, of Uniondale, was arrested and charged with petit larceny following a police investigation at Home Goods, located at 150 N. Village Ave. in Rockville Centre.

On Sept. 24 at 4:27 a.m., Tamer E. Eltabib, 22, of Oceanside, was arrested for DWI, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana and VTL violations after being observed operating a motor vehicle in the vicinity of Sunrise Highway and Morris Avenue in Rockville Centre.

On Sept. 24 at 6:35 p.m., Sarita Johnson, 45, of W. Hempstead, was arrested for petit larceny following a police investigation at Home Goods, located at 150 N. Village Ave. in Rockville Centre.

On Sept. 24 at 9:49 p.m., John A. Amin, 50, of Baldwin Harbor, was arrested for DWI after being observed operating a motor vehicle in the vicinity of Sunrise Highway and N. Kensington Avenue in Rockville Centre.

Robbery:

On Sept. 25 at 9:40 p.m., a complainant from Fams Court in Jericho reported that an unknown male approached her in the Mercy Medical Center parking lot, located at 1000 N. Village Ave. in Rockville Centre and stole a 2011 Hewlett Packard lap top computer valued at $1,200 and an Amazon Kindle valued at $300. The victim tripped and fell and the subject fled on foot toward Peninsula Boulevard with the stolen property.

Burglary:

On Sept. 24 at 1:15 p.m., complainant superintendent from 55 Windsor Ave. in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) damaged the face plate of a door lock to a third floor apartment in an apparent attempt to gain entry.
