Arrests:

On Aug. 17, David C. Sharkey, 41, of Rockville Centre was arrested for fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment following a dispute at his residence.

On Aug. 18 at 1:12 a.m., Matthew R. Cellura, 38, of Deer Park was arrested for third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and VTL violations after being observed operating a 2000 Ford on Gateway in Rockville Centre.

On Aug. 20 at 1:10 a.m., Michael Opperman, 28, and Arshard S. Panchu, 21, both from Rockville Centre, were arrested for third-degree grand larceny, third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, third-degree unlawful fleeing, third-degree criminal trespassing, resisting arrest, and VTL violations after being observed operating a 2008 Audi stolen from Park Place in Rockville Centre driving northbound on N. Long Beach Road.

On Aug. 18, sometime between Aug. 17 at noon and Aug. 18 at 10 a.m., unknown person(s) reportedly stole a check made payable to the Daily News for $65.44 and newspaper front covers from Jenny's Stationary at 197 Brower Ave. in Rockville Centre.  

On Aug. 19, a complainant from Foster Road in Cairo, NY reported that his MasterCard had been taken from his vehicle parked at the Best Western at 173 Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre and $461.42 worth of transactions had been made without permission.

On Aug. 21 at approximately 3:45 a.m., two complainants reported that unknown person(s) stole property that included an iPod and a purse from a vehicle parked in Municipal Parking Field No. 1 between 1:30 a.m. and 3:45 a.m. 

Criminal Mischief:

On Aug. 16, a complainant from Chase Bank at 10 N. Village Ave. in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) damaged the front window to the bank sometime between Aug. 14 at 3 p.m. and Aug. 16 at 7:35 a.m.

On Aug. 16, a complainant from Riverside School at 110 Riverside Drive in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) damaged the playground with graffiti on more than thirty locations sometime between Aug. 13 at noon and Aug. 16 at 9 a.m.

Property Damage:

On Aug. 17, a complainant from Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre reported that his 2008 Acura was damaged by unknown means while parked in the rear of 242 Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre between Aug. 14 at 11:30 p.m. and Aug. 15 at 2 a.m.

On Aug. 18, a complainant from Morris Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between 5:20 p.m. and 5:50 p.m., the driver side mirror to her 2008 Audi was damaged by unknown means.

On Aug. 18, a complainant from Princeton Drive in N. Wantagh reported that her 1999 Pontiac was damaged when she drove over a fuel-filler cap protruding from the property while at the Gulf Gas Station at 2 Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre.

On Aug. 19, a complainant from Washington Avenue in Seaford reported that unknown person(s) damaged the bumper to his 2002 Ford while it was parked at 164 N. Village Ave. in Rockville Centre.

On Aug. 21, a complainant from Berkley Avenue in Baldwin reported that her 2008 Buick driver side mirror was damaged by unknown means while parked in front of 179 Morris Avenue in Rockville Centre on Aug. 21 between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m.

On Aug. 22, a complainant from Riviera Lane in Bellmore reported that her 2003 Nissan passenger front window was damaged by unknown means while parked in the Astoria Federal Bank parking lot at 339 Merrick Rd. in Rockville Centre between Aug. 21 at 6:30 p.m. and Aug. 22 at 12:25 a.m.

Unusual Incident:

On Aug. 19, a complainant from New York Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between Aug. 17 at 2 p.m. and Aug. 18 at 6 a.m., unknown person(s) withdrew $160 from her Chase bank account without authorization.

On Aug. 16, a complainant from S. Forest Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) obtained motor vehicle insurance for an automobile he does not own using his personal information without permission.

ID Theft:

On Aug. 18, a complainant from N. Forest Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) opened eleven credit card accounts using his personal information and made purchases totaling $10, 843 without permission.
