Arrests:

On July 26 at 11:59 a.m., Jonathan Butterman, 46, of Long Beach, was arrested for operation of a motor vehicle while using a handheld mobile device and aggravated unlicensed operation on N. Centre Avenue.

On July 26 at about 1:18 p.m., police responded to the Caldwell Banker office at 7-A N. Park Ave. for a disorderly customer. Upon arriving, police personnel informed the customer, Greg Bala, 45, of Freeport, that he had to leave the premise. The customer, unprovoked, then grabbed a police officer's throat and a struggle ensued. Bala was then arrested and charged with second-degree assault and third-degree criminal trespassing.

On July 31, Miguel A. Colon, 22, of Freeport, was arrested in the vicinity of Merrick Road in Rockville Centre for third-degree assault following an investigation by Rockville Centre police at S. Park Avenue and Lincoln Avenue.

On Aug.1, Dwayne Marc Mills, 48, of Lakeview, was arrested for attempted petit larceny, resisting arrest, and unlawful possession of marijuana following an investigation by Rockville Centre police personnel at CVS 155 Sunrise Hwy in Rockville Centre.

On Aug. 2 at 3:45 a.m., Americo J Minutolo, 59, of East Rockaway, was arrested in the vicinity of 2 Sunrise Hwy in Rockville Centre for driving while intoxicated, obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and VTL violations after being observed operating a 2002 Ford motor vehicle on Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre.

Burglary:

On July 31, a complainant from Long Beach Avenue in Freeport reported that unknown person(s) stole undetermined merchandise from Dunkin Donuts 61 N. Village Ave. in Rockville Centre sometime between 3:02 a.m. and 3:45 a.m. Store video showed two males entering and leaving the store through a basement door where the lock was found to be missing.

 Assault:

On July 29 at 5:30 a.m., a 22-year-old Oceanside resident reported that he was punched in the eye by an unknown subject while inside McFadden's bar at 210 Merrick Rd. at about 1:00 a.m. Victim treated at South Nassau Communities Hospital and received stitches.

Larceny:

On July 26 at 12:02 p.m., a Maple Pointe resident reported a crystal vase was stolen from her room between 10 p.m. on July 24 and noon on July 25.

On July 27 at 12:40 p.m., the store manager at Verizon Wireless, 265 Sunrise Hwy, reported the theft of a cell phone from the customer display area.

On July 27 at 4:50 p.m., the manager at Lexus at 700 Sunrise Hwy. reported the theft of two NYS license plates.

On July 29 at 3:45 p.m., the manager of CVS at 155 Sunrise Hwy.,reported a male subject attempted to steal approximately $350 worth of merchandise. The subject dropped the items on the floor and fled the store after the manager confronted him.

On July 29 at 8:45 p.m., a Malverne resident reported her pocketbook was stolen from the rear of her chair while she was eating inside Panera Bread at 313 Merrick Rd. at about 6:40 p.m.

On July 30, a complainant from Lakeview Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) stole his 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle valued at $5,500 from his driveway sometime between July 29 at 10 p.m. and July 30 at 7 a.m.

On July 30, a complainant from Ayers Place in Oceanside reported that unknown person(s) stole a cell phone valued at $350 from her handbag while at TGIF at 716 Sunrise Hwy. in Rockville Centre on July 29 sometime between 7:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m.

On July 30, a complainant from Michigan reported that unknown person(s) stole his GPS valued at $200 and damaged the passenger side window of his 2009 Toyota motor vehicle sometime between July 29 at 10:30 p.m. and July 30 at 5:45 a.m. while it was parked at Best Western ,173 Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre.

On Aug. 1, a complainant from N. Village Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between July 30 at 10:37 p.m. and Aug. 1 at 9:30 p.m., unknown person(s) damaged the front passenger window of his 2006 Nissan motor vehicle while it was parked in Municipal Parking Field #20.

Unusual Incident:

On July 26 at 1 p.m., a Dartmouth Street resident reported receiving a telephone call from a Wal-Mart representative who informed him someone was attempting to use his credit card to make a purchase online.

Criminal Mischief:

On July 30, a complainant from Muirfield Road in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) damaged the front passenger side window of her 2004 Toyota motor vehicle while it was parked in the Saint Agnes Cathedral parking field on Quealy Place sometime between July 29 at noon and July 30 at 9:30 a.m.  

On July 31, a complainant from First Church of Christ Scientist at 285 Morris Ave. in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) damaged a storm window valued at $200.

Property Damage:

On July 26 at 4:30 p.m., the storeowner at Rhea Nichols, 30 N. Park Avenue, reported he discovered damage (scratches) on the front window of his store on July 25.

On July 28 at 8:05 p.m., an MSBA employee reported finding damage to his vehicle. Incident occurred while vehicle was parked on Banks Avenue between 2 p.m. and 7:45 p.m.

On July 29 at 2:30 a.m., police personnel discovered the front window glass broken at the Heavenly Touch Nail Salon at 226 Merrick Rd.

Harassment:

On July 27 at 2:30 p.m., an employee at Lakeview Auto Sales at 650 Sunrise Hwy, reported an unknown person sent his supervisor a box containing sexually explicit material with a note asking that it be returned to him.

On Aug. 1 at 1:55 a.m. a complainant from Waltoffer Avenue in N. Bellmore reported that she was harassed by an acquaintance while at Kasey's 23 N. Park Avenue in Rockville Centre.

On Aug. 1 at 1:55 a.m. a complainant from Hempstead Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that she was being harassed by telephone calls from an unknown person who claimed to know her husband.

ABC Investigation:

On July 30, Jacob G. Vannostrand, 30, of Long Beach, was issued an appearance ticket for ABC Law 65-1 Sale of Alcohol to a person less than 21 following an investigation by Rockville Centre police personnel at Fat Heads 140A N. Village Ave. in Rockville Centre.  

On July 30, Suresh Kumar Patel, 52, of Rockville Centre, was issued an appearance ticket for ABC Law 65-1 Sale of Alcohol to a person less than 21 following an investigation by Rockville Centre police personnel at Teamo 600 Merrick Rd. in Rockville Centre.  

On July 30, Chaitali J. Patel, 26 of Rockville Centre, was issued an appearance ticket for ABC Law 65-1 Sale of Alcohol to a person less than 21 following an investigation by Rockville Centre police personnel at North Village Convenience 63 N. Village Ave. in Rockville Centre.
