Crime Watch: 13-Year-Old Boy Victim of Hit and Run

Recent police activity as reported by the RVC PD.

The following information was supplied by the RVC Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Arrests:

On May 31 at 4:45 a.m., Anthony W. Cziuzas, 25, of Oceanside, was arrested and charged with driving while ability impaired by alcohol and third-degree assault (reckless) after striking a bicyclist at the intersection of N. Long Beach Rd./Oceanside Rd. The bicyclist was transported to SNCH where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

On May 31 at 6:52 p.m., Jose S. Larios, 47, of Brentwood, was arrested and charged with DWI and consuming an alcoholic beverage in a vehicle after he was observed drinking from an open container of an alcoholic beverage while he was driving eastbound on Sunrise Highway.

On June 2 at 11:34 a.m. Raquel Valerio-Cabrera, 32, of Valley Stream, was arrested and charged with petit larceny after she was observed shoplifting at CVS, located at 155 Sunrise Highway in RVC.

On June 3 at 7:26 p.m., Amine M. Fayad, 33, of Rockville Centre, was arrested and charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief following a disturbance inside his home.

On June 3 at 11:49 p.m., Jennifer Radi, 38, of Rockville Centre, was arrested and charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief following a disturbance inside her home.

Leaving the Scene of an Auto Accident:

On June 2 at 8:49 p.m., two motorists reported being involved in a collision with a third vehicle that left the scene. The accident occurred on Peninsula Blvd./Lakeview Avenue. One driver sustained a minor injury.

On June 3 at about 6:38 p.m., a 13 year-old male Oceanside resident was struck by a dark gray Nissan that left the scene at the entrance to Municipal Parking Field No. 8 near S. Park Avenue. The victim was transported to SNCH where he was admitted with non-life threatening injuries.

On June 4 at 3:30 p.m., a Hempstead resident reported his vehicle was damaged by a vehicle that left the scene while it was parked in MPF No. 3 overnight.

On June 4 at 6:50 p.m., an Ongley Street resident reported his vehicle was damaged by a vehicle that left the scene while it was parked in the lot of 7-Eleven, located at 324 Merrick Road in RVC. Incident occurred on June 3.

Larceny:

On June 2 at 3:30 a.m., a bartender at Kasey’s, located at 23 N. Park Ave., reported her cell phone was stolen from behind the bar while she was working.

On June 4 at 9:40 p.m., a Bellmore resident reported an unknown person broke the passenger side window of his 2009 Nissan and stole electronic items valued at over $1,000 while he was eating dinner inside TGI Fridays, located at 716 Sunrise Highway in RVC.

On June 5 at 12:10 a.m., a Farmingdale resident reported an unknown person broke the driver’s side window of his 2009 Hyundai and stole an MP3 player while he was working inside TGI Fridays, located at 716 Sunrise Highway in RVC.

On June 5 at 1 a.m., a Wantagh resident reported an unknown person stole her backpack and iPod from her unlocked vehicle while she was inside the Pantry Diner, located at 525 Merrick Road in RVC.

Graffiti:

On May 31 at 8:48 a.m., an RVC employee reported finding new graffiti on the front wall of sewer pump station No. 2 on Seaman Avenue.

On May 31 at 3:16 p.m., a N. Forest Avenue resident reported finding graffiti spray painted on his vehicle.

Property Damage:

On June 1 at 12:30 p.m., a West Hempstead resident reported her vehicle mirror was damaged by unknown means while it was parked at 150 N. Village Ave.

On June 1 at 9 p.m., an Elmont resident reported her vehicle door sustained minor damage while it was parked in MPF No. 4.

On June 5 at 4:10 p.m., a Richmond Hill resident reported her vehicle was damaged by unknown means while it was parked in front of 156 N. Village Ave.

Criminal Mischief:

On June 6 at 3 a.m., an Oceanside resident reported an unknown person let the air out of two tires and scratched the hood of his 2003 Honda while he was working inside TGI Fridays, located at 716 Sunrise Highway in RVC.
