Cops: Woman Pushed to the Ground, Robbed Outside Nearby Bar

Cops are investigating a robbery that happened outside a Baldwin bar early Sunday morning, said Nassau County Police.

A 43-year-old woman was in the parking lot of Love Jones Bar when her husband got into an argument with a group of men, police said. She approached the group when one man pushed her to the ground and grabbed her pocketbook from her hand, cops reported. The man walked away, taking her wallet with personal papers and cash before throwing the bag back at her, detectives said. The man fled on foot in an unknown direction.

No one was reportedly injured in the incident, which happened at 1:45 a.m. Sunday at the 1920 Grand Avenue bar.

The subject is described as a black man in his mid-20s, 5 feet 9 inches tall, and wearing a black sweatshirt at the time of the robbery.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about this incident to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
