Cops ID Woman Found Dead in Rockville Centre

Homicide squad investigating possible murder of Lynbrook woman.

Police have identified a Lynbrook woman found dead in Rockville Centre Thursday night, according to Nassau County Police.

The body of Lauren Daverin, 18, of Lynbrook, was discovered at about 10 p.m. Thursday on the footbridge between Merrick Road and Sunrise Highway, cops confirmed.

Daverin was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics at 10:15 p.m. and was transported to the Nassau County Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death, police reported.

Homicide Squad is treating Daverin's death as a possible murder.

A Facebook page "RIP Lauren Daverin" was created Friday afternoon and gained almost 500 likes within hours.

The footbridge where she was found extends over Merrick Road and runs near Mill River Complex Park.

Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into her death and are asking anyone with information to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
