Cops: Craigslist Scammer Pulls Gun on Customer

After agreeing to buy a Rolex watch, a potential buyer had a gun pointed at him, police said.

Cops are investigating an attempted gunpoint robbery in Lakeview Sunday.

According to police, at 1:20 p.m., a 44-year-old male victim responded to a Craigslist ad for a Rolex watch. When the victim met at the agreed intersection of Robin Court and Park Avenue, the suspect reached into a blue backpack and pulled out a black semi-automatic handgun.

A struggle ensued, and the suspect was able to break free and flee via a waiting vehicle. The automobile traveled down Eagle Avenue before going westbound on the Southern State Parkway. 

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately six feet tall with a muscular build. The vehicle is described as a blue GMC or Chevy SUV. There were no proceeds taken or reported injuries, cops added.

Detectives request anyone with information regarding this crime to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
