Attempted Robbery at Front Street Citibank

Suspect handed teller a note that read, 'Armed' but left empty-handed.

A white man in his late 30s walked into the Front Street Citibank on Saturday afternoon with a note saying he was armed, but after the teller didn't give him any money, he left empty-handed, police said.

According to Nassau County Robbery Squad Detectives, a 6'2'' white man in his late 30s entered the Citibank at 41 Front Street around 2:55 p.m. on Saturday. Dressed in a white-zippered hoodie, sunglasses and a knitted winter hat, he handed a teller a note that read, "Armed" along with a brown plastic bag. The teller read the note, got up and walked away from her station. The suspect then took the note back, along with the plastic bag and left the bank empty-handed in an unknown direction.

Four employees were on duty, but no one was hurt.
