15-Year-Old Arrested for RVC LIRR Station Mugging

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with a robbery that occurred at the Rockville Centre Train Station last week.

Nassau County Police arrested the 15-year-old male, from Rockville Centre, on Tuesday. The defendant is being charged with robbery in the second degree.

Police said that on May 5, a 36-year-old female was walking in front of 100 N. Centre Ave. after coming off the train when she was approached from behind by two suspects.

One of the suspects picked her up and threw her to the ground, police reported. The second suspect allegedly took the victim's phone from her hand and they fled on foot northbound on N. Centre Avenue.

The victim sustained cuts and bruises to her face, legs and arms as well as a laceration over her eye. She was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
