The Garden City Police Department is beefing up its aggressive driving enforcement in the village, according to commissioner Kenneth Jackson.

Mayor John Watras was happy to hear the news, stating, "Thank you for adhering to our request. Speeding will not be tolerated in the village of Garden City."

PLAYOFFS: Trojans Lax Captures Eighth Straight County Title

The Garden City Trojans’ last loss came more than a month ago, on April 27.

Their opponent? The Manhasset Indians.

The loss was fresh in the minds of all the Garden City players Tuesday afternoon as the top-ranked Trojans (16-3) routed No. 2 Manhasset (15-4) by a final score of 10-4 to claim their eighth consecutive Nassau County Class B championship.

Hewlett Harbor Mayor Warns About Potential Pack of Wild Dogs

Mark Weiss, mayor of the Village of Hewlett Harbor, warned his constituents earlier this week that some residents have seen a pack of five wild dogs roaming Hewlett Harbor.

Coincidental with this, there have been reports that a few outdoor cats have been killed.
