Rockville Centre's Brian Lynn Nominated for U.S. Merchant Marine Academy

United States Senator Kirsten Gillibrand recently announced her nominations for the United States Air Force, Military, Naval and Merchant Marine Academies.

Brian Lynn of Rockville Centre was among those nominated for the United States Merchant Marine Academy.

A selection committee formed by Senator Gillibrand chose the nominees from a large group of qualified applicants. Decisions were based on criteria including academic record, leadership potential, and overall achievement. Final acceptance is determined solely by the service academies.

“Our Service Academies are distinguished by a devotion to honor, courage and commitment,” Gillibrand said. “I am honored to nominate these young, talented New Yorkers who exemplify these core values. It is my hope that the accomplished nominees have the chance to live their dreams and serve in our country’s armed forces with distinction.”

Itr's nice to hear about a good kid coming from R.V.C. instead of all the in-bred PUNKS that have dominated the R.V.C. news of late...Congrats to this kid who most likely RESPECTS his elders, wouldn't dare stick a broom handle up another kid's ass, wouldn't dare verbally assault a woman out walking her dog or kick her husband in the head for seeking an apology or nearly kick the ear off a neighbor interceding on a young girls behalf to get the drunk punks out of her house...Oh, one can go on and on...Just so good to hear there are some decent kids among the protected, privledged scum in this hamlet...

Congrats to Brian. On a side note the first comment is ridiculous, and an unnecessary change of topic for this article. There are plenty of great kids who go on to respectable schools and respect adults, likely similar to Brian.
