RVC Teens to Put on Rock Show to Benefit Sandy Victims
Teen musicians from Rockville Centre on July 20 will perform in a concert to benefit local victims of Hurricane Sandy.
The rock bands — Bailout 42, Opposite Orange, Sabretooth, Robot Dad, The Punk Rangers and 3 to 1 — will play on the lawn of Saint Mark's Church, at 200 Hempstead Ave., on Saturday, July 20, at 3:30 p.m. The suggested donation is $5, and there will also be snacks, soft drinks and BBQ.
Lucas Santora, 16, the lead guitarist for Bailout 42, said he was inspired by the 12/12/12 concert that benefited victims of the devastating storm.

“Here in Rockville Centre, [Sandy] wasn’t that bad,” said the soon-to-be junior at South Side High School. “I heard about in Oceanside and surrounding towns. I had survivor’s guilt. I’ve been trying to plan [the show] for a while.”
The money will be given to Oceanside Community Service, which aids Long Island victims of Sandy.

For many of the musicians, this will be their first show.
“I’m really proud of them,” said Donna Krauss, Lucas’ mother. “They’re pretty young — it’s a great thing.”Get more local news delivered straight to your inbox. Sign up for free Patch newsletters and alerts.
