RVC in 2012: Most Viewed Stories of the Year

Here's a look at what Rockville Centre read the most about in 2012.

It was a busy 2012 for the Village of Rockville Centre. Here's a look back at the five most viewed stories on Rockville Centre Patch this year:

5. Kerri Lisa is a 'Gallery Girl': Rockville Centre native Kerri Lisa was featured on Gallery Girls, a new Bravo reality series focusing on the competitive New York City art scene. Lisa told Patch that the show sheds light on the struggles and issues involved in maintaining a certain lifestyle in the big city art world.

4. PHOTOS: Hurricane Sandy Hits RVC: After Hurricane Sandy hit, Rockville Centre residents immediately began to share photos of the damage from around the village here on Patch.

3. Man Shot Near Old Mill Court: A 22-year-old man was shot in the leg in early August on N. Centre Avenue in Rockville Centre. At the time, the suspect had gotten away. However, a Rockville Centre man and known Bloods gang member -- Michael Harris -- was arrested and charged two months later in regards to the shooting.

2. : The second most-viewed story came after a Rockville Centre woman lost her cool when she became the victim of what appeared to be a prank back in January. Police said after firing off a revolver in front of her home 47-year-old Bernadette Greenwald held a teenage boy at gunpoint because she thought he was involved.

1. Police: Groups of Teens Attacked Man on Roxen Road: It comes as no surprise that the most-viewed story on RVC Patch was the alleged Roxen Road assault and the stories that followed. In June, police said a Rockville Centre man was jumped by a group of rowdy teens and put into the hospital after he tried to defend his wife from the group's taunts and threats. Three 2012 South Side High School graduates were arrested for the crime and are scheduled to return to court in early 2013 on second-degree gang assault charges.
