RVC: A Family Village of Educated Professionals, Census Says

Census statistics show RVC residents raise their families here, are well-educated, and make more than $100K a year.

Rockville Centre appears to be a place where educated professionals choose to stay and raise their families, according to statistics recently released  by the U.S. Census Bureau.

According to U.S. Census stats gathered between 2005 and 2009, 93 percent of the 25,000 Rockville Centre residents have lived at the same residence for more than a year, while a tiny percentage — around 4 percent —  moved from another municipality in Nassau County to RVC. Statistics also show that 93 percent of residents over 25 had achieved at least a high school diploma, and nearly 60 percent earned a bachelor's degree or better.

Rockville Centre is also a family village. Census stats revealed that married couple families make up 70 percent of RVC, with the average household size being 2.8 per household. More than a quarter of the village's population is under 18, while a majority — 50 percent — is between 25 and 65.
