A Lakeview Crips gang leader, already being held on seperate murder charges, now faces additional charges after allegedly attempting to kill a rival Bloods gang member in Rockville Centre early last year.
According to Newsday [paid link], a grand jury recently indicted English Thomas, 29, on charges of attempted murder in aid of racketeering, attempted assault with a dangerous weapon in aid of racketeering and discharging a firearm during a violent crime.
Prosecutors said he fired shots from the Rockville Centre train station toward a nearby lounge on Feb. 21, 2011. The name of Thomas' alleged target was not released, but the indictment asserts Thomas tried to kill the Hempstead man "for the purpose of maintaining and increasing position in the Crips."
According to Lt. James Vafeades of the RVCPD, "The incident took place on Front Street in the vicinity of N. Park Avenue and the LIRR. The Vibe Lounge was the nearby lounge that was referred to."
The report continues to state that Thomas, who is from Uniondale, is a leader in the Lakeview gang called the "Insane Gangsta Crips."

Thomas is already awaiting trial in the murder of a Yonkers woman and shooting of her husband and 12-year-old daughter, which occurred back in April 2010. Officials say Thomas was the getaway driver during the shooting for Charles Parsley, 28, and Kasaun White, 29, both of Old Mill Court.
Parsley and White were sentenced to 75 years to life in state prison for the crime back in June.
