There is much to do in our neighborhood this weekend. You can start the weekend at a Country Fair and end it with a pancake breakfast and in between, there’s everything from a run at the beach to some face-time with baseball royalty!

Why go: Enjoy breakfast with your neighbors and friends. There will be entertainment for the young and ‘not-as-young,’ and no shortage of great food and company. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Halls Pond 9/11 Memorial as well as other local charities.

FOOTBALL CAMP FOR STARTERS

What: Malverne Wildcats Football Camp

Why go: An open camp for kids eager to learn about football. This camp is non-contact and no equipment is necessary. Both offense and defense will be addressed.

What: Comedy Extravaganza
When: Sunday, May 15, at 2 p.m.
Why go: Talented, and funny, these comedians take over Elmont Library for a laugh-out-loud good time. Guests include Greg Rahner, Les Degen, Eric Haft, Monica Taller, Dr. Harry Freedman and Rich Walker; Mark Brier

FUNDRAISE WITH FIDO

What: Dog Walk Fundraiser
When: Sunday, May 15, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Why go: A day at the beach, with your four legged friends and it’s for a good cause! All proceeds benefit the Long Beach Waterfront Warriors and Amie’s Place foundation. There will be refreshments and raffles.
Cost: $15 or $10 before May 15
ECLECTIC OUTDOOR FAIR
Where: Schoolhouse Green on Foxhurst Rd. in Oceanside
What: Country Fair
When: Saturday, May 14 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Why go: This community fair has something for everyone: arts and crafts, passport services through the town of Hempstead, antiques and collectibles, food, games, and inflatables.

3.1 MILE RUN (OR WALK)
Where: North Woodmere Park on the corner of Branch Blvd and Hungry Harbor Rd. www.5towns5k.org
What: Second Annual Five Towns 5K Run/Walk
When: Sunday, May 15, at 9:30 a.m. (race begins at 10 a.m.)
Why go: This run/walk benefits the Beit Halochem rehabilitation centers in Israel. Participation not only raises funds, but also awareness of the important work and helps these centers provide.
MEET BASEBALL STARS
Where: Steiner Sports Store 630 Old Country Rd. Garden City
What: Meet and Greet with the Greats
When: Sunday, May 15, noon – 1:30 p.m.
Why go: Meet former shortstop Bucky Dent, who made Yankee history in 1978 when he hit the winning home run against the Boston Red Sox to win the American League pennant and former Yankee pitcher, “Louisiana Lighting” Ron Guidry.
Cost: $40-$50 baseball or photo, $60-$75 for equipment
ENJOY THE BLUES
Where: The Hub Billiard Club, 4060 Austin Blvd. Island Park
What: Blues Festival
When: Sunday, May 15, 2 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Why go: Musical performance featuring Blues artists, the Joe Vicino Band, the Michael Packer Band and an Open Blues Jam. Includes games, food and raffles. Proceeds benefit Artists in Partnership and the Barrier Beach Blues and Arts Festival.
Cost: $20
