Mercy Administrator Receives Catholic Health Services Leadership Award

Award honors those for exemplary leadership in respective fields.

Kathleen Kennedy, Mercy Medical Center's senior director of Imaging and Physician Support Services, has received the 2010 Patrick J. Scollard Award For Leadership from Catholic Health Services of Long Island.

The annual award honors an employee within the Catholic Health Services system who has demonstrated exemplary leadership skills and commitment to his or her facility, CHS, and the communities they serve.

Kennedy was recognized for coordinating major upgrading and modernization of Mercy's radiology and imaging facilities and services while continually motivating, teaching, mentoring, and setting an example of commitment, integrity and knowledge to both those who report to her and those to whom she reports.

Kennedy joined Mercy in Dec. 2005 as director of Radiology & Imaging following 16 years at the Hospital For Special Surgery in Manhattan. She was appointed to her current position as senior director of Imaging and Physician Support Services in Sept. 2008, with additional responsibilities involving cardiovascular services as well as overseeing the ongoing development of various physician support services.
