Hess, Getty Have Cheapest Gas in RVC

In a floundering economy, residents need to find ways to cut costs, conserve energy and save money. So why not start with finding the cheapest gas prices in the village?

According to motortrend.com, the Hess Gas Station at 580 Sunrise Hwy. offers the lowest priced regular gas at $2.86 per gallon, as well as the lowest plus and premium gases at $2.96 and $3.06, respectively. The second lowest price for regular and premium in Rockville Centre is at the Getty Station at 232 Long Beach Rd., which sells its regular gas at $2.89 per gallon and premium at $3.16. As of Tuesday, those were the lowest gas prices in the village.

Mobil, at 345 Sunrise Hwy., has the lowest priced diesel fuel, selling at $2.94 per gallon, according to Motortrend.com.

In comparison, the most expensive regular gas sold within the 11570 zip code is at  Citgo, at 128 N. Village, which sells for $3.20 per gallon. The most expensive plus gasoline is sold at the Gulf station located at 2 Sunrise Hwy. at $3.20 per gallon, in addition to selling the most expensive premium gas at $3.30, according to motortrend.com

Diesel fuel is most expensive at the Shell station at 516 Merrick Rd., which sells it at $3.45 per gallon.
