Gyro Boss Brings Greek Classics to RVC

New Greek eatery opened in October on Park Avenue.

When the Fotedis family was searching for a new business location, they knew the heart of Rockville Centre would be the perfect place.

Gyro Boss, a small Greek-American style eatery at 1A N. Park Ave., opened its doors to Rockville Centre early last month. Operated by partners Nes, John, George and James Fotedis with more than 30 years experience in the hospitality industry, the team said they take pride in a unique presentation of Greek culture and one-of-a-kind service alongside it.

“Being a family-run business, we pride ourselves in friendly service and the best quality," said co-owner James, a graduate of Island Trees High School in Levittown. “We use the freshest ingredients while striving to build relationships with every one of our customers.”

In the works for several months prior, Rockville Centre stood out as the primary destination for the family's new start-up.

"Rockville Centre has always been a business friendly town," James explained. "From anywhere on Long Island, it is known as a restaurant and food establishment mecca."

"We hope to become a part of the Rockville Centre and surrounding area's families, where they can come and be treated with care while enjoying some of the best food around," James added.

Since their opening, James said he's seen that the community has grown just as fond of Gyro Boss.

"The town has been very supportive and welcoming to us," he said. "Everyone has been very friendly and kind and have all wished us the best of luck here."

The menu at Gyro Boss blends authentic Greek cuisine with a more generic American flair — a delicate balance that the family deems necessary for their patrons.

"It gives our customers a taste of our Greek culture while still offering classic favorites," James said.

So far, the kitchen staff has seen a lot of their Meditteranean classics ordered most frequently, like gyros and chicken gyros, chicken and pork souvlakis and falafels.

The restaurant is open seven days a week; Sunday-Thursday 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. - 4 a.m. A kids menu is available for dine-in customers and delivery is available free of charge.
