Business Q&A: Isabella’s Boutique

The new boutique caters to RVC's most fashion-forward residents.

One of the newest additions to the South Village Avenue shopping scene, Isabella’s Boutique features an eclectic mix of clothing, jewelry, handbags and swimwear. Here, Elizabeth Heins, co-owner of Isabella’s, gives us a taste of what the shop has to offer.

When did the store first open?

My mom, Betty Ann Bracco, and I opened Isabella's in November 2010. We have been open for six months. I'm a long time resident of Rockville Centre, so I was enthusiastic about bringing my creative energy to my friends and neighbors in the area.

What can shoppers expect to find at Isabella’s?

We carry all the clothing styles you will need, and shoes will be coming soon to our inventory. Isabella's carries a select group of unique and innovative lines from designers that have their fingers on the pulse of fashion. Women can come to Isabella's to add that one special piece to their wardrobe or to create an entire outfit. We have a relaxed shopping environment and moderate prices.

Do you offer any discounts or incentives for local shoppers?

We advertise in the community coupon booklet to give our existing customers a nice discount and to encouraging new customers to shop at Isabella's. We have also donated gift certificates and discount coupons to fundraisers for local groups such as the Mercy League, Watson Elementary School’s PTA, South Side Middle School’s PTA, and various other organizations from neighboring towns.

What is your background in the retail and fashion industries?

I graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology and worked in the retail and wholesale industries before becoming a small business owner in Rockville Centre. I'm always on the lookout for fashion-forward lines that offer what can't be found in big department stores.

What do you hope customers gain from their shopping experience?

My goal is just to have residents and out-of-town shoppers look and feel as good as possible with the unique styles from Isabella's.
