Nearby: Baldwin Man Killed in Southern State Accident

A Baldwin man was killed early Saturday morning in a single-car accident on the Southern State Parkway.

According to New York State Police, just before 4:30 a.m., 23-year-old Timothy Kearney was driving his 1998 Toyota Camry westbound on the Southern State when it left the roadway west of exit 21.

The car drove onto the center median striking the guide rail, police said. The Toyota mounted the guide rail, overturned and struck a tree before catching on fire.

Kearney, who was alone in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into this accident is ongoing and New York State Police are asking any witnesses to call at 516-561-8883.
