FX Show 'The Americans' Filming in Rockville Centre

One-day shoot taking place at Sunrise Highway Ramada Inn & Suites.

FX's brand new television show "The Americans" is shooting in Rockville Centre Thursday for a one-day shoot.

The show's crew is filming a scene in the back parking lot of the Ramada Inn & Suites of Rockville Centre, located at 1000 Sunrise Highway. Actor Noah Emmerich (The Truman Show, Miracle) was on scene for Thursday's shoot.

"The Americans" focuses on a married couple of Russian spies living in the United States during the 1980s.

The location had been previously scouted for the USA Network show "Royal Pains," but the timing did not work out and the scene was scrapped, according to a manager from "The Americans."

The manager said that it's tough to find a location with the specific motel setting they were looking for, but he knew of the location from when it had been previously passed on.

The Ramada is being used in "The Americans" for a scene that is supposed to take place in a 1980s Virginia motor lodge.

"They don't use our name, but just to use the location, it's extremely helpful," Ramada general manager Rajen Shah said. "It's good publicity."
