Residents Speak Through the Sidewalk, With Chalk

The Rockville Centre Youth Council and Guild for the Arts recently wrapped up its first-ever “Chalk Talk on the Walk” series, with the sidewalk in front of village hall full of inspiring messages and drawings every week.

Everyone was invited to come out to the Chalk Talk events, which started July 13, to write messages or draw pictures representing that week’s topic. The topics were Good Values, Substance Abuse, Go Green, Safe Driving, Health and Fitness and Creative Arts.

The event was supported by Bialystock and Bloom, which supplied homemade muffins, bagels, coffee and water to the artists, The Art Studio, Leggz Dancers, Coach Realty, which supplied balloons, State Farm, and Mayor Francis Murray and Village Hall.
