UPDATE: 200 RVC Residents Still Without Power

Officials say that by 6 p.m. on Sunday, 800 residents had power restored.

Around 1,000 RVC residents were without power on Sunday, but by 6 p.m., 800 of them had power restored, officials said.

As of 2 p.m. on Sunday, village officials estimated that about 500 residents had lost power, but that number doubled as more outages were reported.

According to Village Spokesman Jeff Kluewer, the 200 residents still without power are clustered in two sections of the village. A downed Verizon telephone pole in the area of Fonda and Muirfield roads cut power to those homes, and Kluewer said Verizon will have to reset the poles before power can be restored.

"We just have to wait for Verizon now," Kluewer said.

A southeast portion of the village — around Vernon Court and Seitz Avenue — are also without power, while there are other isolated areas in the village that are still in the dark, Kluewer said.

As of now, Kluewer said the village does not have an estimate of how many trees fell during the storm.
