The United Church and Nursery School of Rockville Centre are accepting donations for victims in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.

The church, located at 430 Morris Ave., currently has a lot of clothes, according to Director Janice Burke, but could use the following items:

  • Blankets
  • Food
  • Water
  • Baby items
  • Formula
  • Diapers
  • Shoes
  • Children's underwear
  • Socks
  • Cleaning supplies
  • Garbage bags
  • Surgical gloves

Burke said that the church is trying to focus on children's items at the moment, but will take anything.

"If you know somebody that needs something specific, come and get it," Burke said. "If you need to get warm, come and have tea or coffee upstairs."

I have some blankets I can donate and some baby receiving blankets. How would I get them to you?
