Dr. Abraham J. Herzberg and Dr. David J. Gordon will join Mercy's staff.

Two highly-experienced senior practitioners have joined the Medical Staff at Mercy Medical Center to provide care in the hospital’s Outpatient Podiatry Service.

Dr. Abraham J. Herzberg received his medical degree from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine and did his residency training at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Baltimore, Md. He was Director of the Wound Care Center at the New York Westchester Square Medical Center Hyperbaric Center and he currently serves as Associate Chief at St. John’s Hospital.

Augmenting its outstanding high-quality inpatient orthopedic and podiatry programs, Mercy’s Outpatient Podiatry Service provides ambulatory patients with expert diagnosis and treatment of conditions ranging from routine corns, calluses, bunions, sprains and other minor injuries, to geriatric and diabetic foot care, ulcers and infections, as well as all aspects of foot surgery.

Podiatrists are doctors whose extensive training focuses exclusively on the foot and ankle, making them uniquely qualified to treat such conditions. Mercy’s program also has radiologists, general and vascular surgeons, diabetic educators, plus all other medical specialists, easily available for expert consultative care.

The program is headed by Chief of Podiatry Dr. Cary M. Golub under the overall leadership of Director of Orthopedics Dr. Eric Freeman.
