Jake Saia, of Rockville Centre, was recently presented with a Town of Hempstead Certificate of Recognition for being a distinguished scholarship recipient at the Annual Bill Flanagan Memorial Scholarship Award Ceremony.
The $1,000 award is given to graduating high school seniors or undergraduate college students who are members of CSEA Local 880, a public service union representing the Town of Hempstead workforce, or a child of a member.
The event was held at the Merrick Golf Course.
