Marc DiSciullo, MD, has been installed as president of The Friends of Mercy Medical Center for 2013.
The long-time Muttontown resident accepted a small bust of Theodore Roosevelt that signifies leadership of the organization in a Jan. 22 ceremony at Frank’s Steak’s in Rockville Centre.
DiSciullo is president of the Rockville Anesthesia Group and immediate past president of Mercy’s Medical Staff, of which he has been a member since 1993.
DiSciullo joined The Friends of Mercy in 2006 and has been a member of the organization’s executive board since 2010.
With his wife, Gloria, he has twice chaired The Mercy Ball (in 2008 and 200). At The Mercy Ball this past December, he was honored with the Theodore Roosevelt Award For Outstanding Service.
The Friends of Mercy was founded in 1935 as an organization of men dedicated to volunteering their time and efforts to raise funds for the construction of a new hospital and advancement of medical and surgical care for the patients of Mercy Medical Center.
In addition to the Mercy Ball, the group sponsors two other major fundraising events each year: a black-tie St. Patrick’s dinner in March and a golf outing in July.
