Mercy Hosting Free Presentation On Thyroid Issues

Presentation will explain how to recognize symptoms and risk factors of thyroid disease.

Mercy Medical Center hosting the a free lecture explaining “Everything You Need to Know About Your Thyroid” on Feb. 12 at 7:30 p.m.

According to the medical center, thyroid disease affects as many as 30 million Americans, more than half of them undiagnosed.

The hour-long presentation at the hospital by otolaryngologist Dr. Rajesh Kakani and endocrinologist Dr. Sanjay Goyal will explain how to recognize the symptoms and risk factors of thyroid disease and the available treatments.

Kakani is board certified in otolaryngology, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and Chief of Head and Neck Surgery at Mercy.

Goyal is board certified in internal medicine, endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism, and Chief of Endocrinology at Mercy.

Advance registration for the presentation is not required. The presentation will be conducted in the employee dining room on the lower level of the medical center’s North Pavilion. Ample convenient free parking will be available.
