Mercy Hosting Free 'Depression & Diabetes' Presentation

Event will be co-hosted by Rockville Centre Lions Club.

Mercy Medical Center and the Rockville Centre Lions Club will be hosting a free lecture at the hospital on Feb. 28 at 1 p.m. explaining the interaction of depression and diabetes.

Coping with the emotional aspects of diabetes is an important part of dealing with the condition, according to David Flomenhaft, PhD, Mercy’s Director of Outpatient Behavioral Health Services.

The hour-long presentation by Flomenhaft will address the emotional struggles that can make it difficult for diabetics to do what’s necessary to be healthy and feel better.
