Mercy Hosting 'Early Spring' Blood Drive

Drive will run from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 11.

Mercy Medical Center in Rockville Centre is inviting and encouraging members of the community to participate in an “Early Spring” Blood Drive to support Long Island Blood Services on Monday, March 11.

The drive will run from from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. on the first floor of the St. Anne’s building on the hospital campus.

Anyone between the ages of 17 and 75 who is in good health and weighs at least 110 pounds can donate blood. Healthy individuals over 75 can donate blood if they present written permission from their physician obtained within two weeks of their donation.

Donors should have eaten and should bring reading glasses and an ID with a signature. Donors should also know their Social Security number.

To register, call Jeannie Jaeger at (516) 705-2589 and leave your name and phone number. Mercy asks that residents "please help save live … become a blood donor."
