Through music, community support and radio broadcasts, Long Live Long Beach's mission is to support those who were emotionally and/or financially demoralized with reintegration and by providing the necessary guidance to maintain their presence in the community by utilizing innovative and conventional methods.

Since Nov. 18, the Halftime Howie Show, which broadcasts from 8-9 p.m. every Wednesday on WGBB 1240am, has created fundraising and relief operations at various locations to help feed, clothe and help members of the Long Beach area including VFW Post 1384, the Oceanside VFW, the children of the Long Beach Fire Department and others.

Musicians have come together to perform at the events under the direction of Benoir a.k.a. Benjamin Metzger, a member of Howie’s radio team and an influential Long Beach musician. His song "Long Live Long Beach" is an anthem about Hurricane Sandy and has now replaced the Beach Boys’ "Surfin U.S.A." as Howie’s opening theme to his show at 8 p.m.
