'Elf Yourself RVC' Draws 500 to Village, Raises $20K
Holiday event helps raise serious money for charities.
"Elf Yourself RVC" hit the village last weekend. The following is from one of the event's organizers Mike O'Hare:
"The weather didn't cooroperate, but RVC didn't dissapoint us. We didn't break the record (936), but we had almost 500 elves show up ready to have fun. The event was organized by Niall Gunn, owner of Monaghans Irish Resturant in RVC.
Elf Yourself in Rockville Centre was successful in raising almost $20,000 to be shared by four charities: The Jillian E. Daly Foundation, ALS Association N.Y. Crosscare (Dublin, Ireland) and Rockville Centre Community Fund.
